Not every team can get a .500 starter that can give them a solid 4.25era, 5.5 innings a start... for 1/2 a year... for under 28 million... Let alone a starter who can last 2+ innings in the playoffs. -

Yea, thats why I've always wished that the playoffs weren't exclusively on one network. It would be WAY better if it was on both teams networks + a national network.

I wonder why Don Orsillo is commentating the Rockies series and not the Sox. It seems pretty obvious to have the Red Sox commentator commentate for the Sox if he is going to commentate in the playoffs... Who cares about bias, he at least knows what he is doing and knows the Red Sox.

"Double play ball... oh no, 2 outs, no need for a DP." These commentators have been tripping over words all night. Beckett owns the playoffs. This is awesome.

The thing that really gets me with the whole replay argument is the fact that they replay the play on the jumbotrons in the parks. I mean, its right up there to see. I remember times when the fans could clearly see a blown call right on the replays in the park. I think they should add replay to certain parts of the game. I like baseball as a "traditional" sport, but common on, the technology is right there, use it!

Man I'm so glad we traded for Beckett and Lowell. Lowell looks like he is reverse-aging the way he is swinging the bat and Beckett is turning into quite the ace. Filthy. I can't believe his 5-1 strikeout-walk ratio. Thats pretty insane for a power pitcher.

So the rule that you have to tag/throw the runner out at first on a dropped/never caught 3rd strike doesn't apply EVER if there is a runner on first and less than 2 outs, even if the runner(s) advance? Just clarification, sorry if I'm pissing you off... -

Didn't the runner on 1st move up to 2nd on the wild pitch? In that case, wouldn't first no longer be occupied when Hinske reached 1st? Or since they were loaded, it only matters that 1st is occupied when he struck out? I'm confused.
