  1. It's been brought up before. Not sure how easy it would be to pull off. IMO the Sox are looking for a 1-2 year stop gap and hoping by that time Iglesias is ready to take over. If not then they will look elsewhere. Hanley will be in the big $ years of his contract. He could be more available in 1-2 seasons then he is now. BTW I wouldn't expect to see Lowrie in the Majors until at least the 2nd half of next season. The Sox are going to put him in AAA and make him prove he's healthy enough to play everyday. So I don't see him platooning at with whoever the Sox bring in. My bet is they bring back Agon, and add Vizquel to the bench.
  2. I think the pic's angle makes her stomach look much bigger then it probably is. I was thinking it wasn't the best photo either. Not saying she isn't a dime, she so is, full on hottie, Sexable tot he up most degree. Just not the best pic of her. The first quote that comes to my mind when I see Jeter's face is " My name is Jangle Leg Jangle Leg"( Bernie Mac's character in "Life"). I don't know why but it was my initial thought.
  3. 5-6 years at 17-20M AAV is something I see the Sox offering for Holliday. And it being a competitive offer they would consider and hold on to. I could also see Boras getting together with some club like he did last offseason with the Sox. And telling them if you give me 6 or 7 years at 20-22M AAV and you can sign Holliday tonight before you walk out the door. So maybe they won't even get a chance to sign him :dunno: Or maybe all of us are in denial and the Yankees will undoubtedly get the final call and a chance to trump everyones offer by 10-20M.
  4. Lincecum! Making stoners everywhere proud!
  5. No worries, I'll be taking you "bowl" advice her shortly though:lol: nothing better for a clogged up head cold, may not cure my cold, but at least I don't remember I'm sick
  6. Not shocking. But I guess it's official now that he turned down their initial offer.
  7. Yes, because from now on anyone who wears #2 wants to be Jeter...
  8. Yes because we all now Seattle is a pressure cooker the likes of which KC has never seen As far as Seattle's finances go, are they really going to be able to tie up 18M+ in just Felix for the next 6+ years? If not, they could do a lot worse then Grienke as a replacement. Also I'm not the one who stated that Seattle or KC would not be able to sing there guys to longterm deals. I just assume like everyone else that writes/talks about these situations that there is a decent chance the teams will not be able to match big market offers if these players aren't extended and reach the open Market. Besides it's no more dreamy then the Hanley, Felix, AG, Halladay, Mauer(FA) talks that have been going on here. Each case has reasons to think it will work, and reasons it might not. Just sayin
  9. Actually you could argue they gain 3 years of the current Cy Younf award winner, over 2 years of the guy who finished in 2nd place All the Felix talk starts with the premises Seattle won't be able to afford him. So they move the final two years of Felix, for 3 years of Grienke, at which they might be able to re-sign him, or could move him for probably a similar or = package they could have gotten for Felix. Bringing in a Grienke is about the best possible replacement for Felix at this point(as far as ML ready pitching), and would help with the PR hit Seattle will take for trading Felix. maybe if they can get a top hitting prospect and a ML ready player it could get done. Just saying it's an interesting thought.
  10. Cheeky business move lol I think #2 suits him better anyways, but that's me
  11. I came across an article and discussion that I hadn't seen brought up here yet(this is a trade scenario post, so read on at your own risk). I'll see if I can find it, but I read an article that was talking about how KC should capitalize on Grienke's value and go look to trade him after his CY Young victory. I think there is an argument for both sides of the discussion. It would be a tough PR hit for KC, but it's not like KC is relevant anyways. There were multiple packages and offers, some where legit that I think KC would have to consider. One I thought was interesting(because it involved the Sox), was sending Grienke to a semi larger laid back market like Seattle, then Seattle sends Felix to Boston, and Boston ships an assortment of prospects to KC. I know we bring up a lot of pipe dreams here, but this one seems to make some sense from all sides( except if your a KC fan). KC gets pieces to help fill out their roster. Seattle recieves an Ace SP that is signed to a reasonable deal(at least less then what Felix will cost soon), and Boston get's their stud Ace. Any thoughts?
  12. Hahaha my GF is going to be confused now. Not sure why he didn't change it earlier. Guess he was waiting for the #2 :dunno:
  13. I think the Mets could easily throw 5 years at Martinez. I think he could definitely get 5 years on the open market from somewhere. To get him to sign an extension for less years I agree with you Dipre, they could very well just up the AAV and probably could get it done. I think the Sox could offer something like 11-13M AAV and it be a competitive offer he would consider. If they offer him 4/60M I think he signs tomorrow. I also think it's better to get him signed before Mauer gets his extension(I'm going to consider him as getting a extension from Minny until he actually hits the open market). That may alter the figure Martinez wants.
  14. And "click", Theo hangs up the phone and moves on...
  15. I honestly don't see the Sox trading Buchholz. With or without a contract extension window. If it can be done with out him they might be more intrigued to really get involved. It will also depend on what exactly his contract demands are. If he wants 5 or 6 years I think they would pass. So unless those circumstances are met, I don't see the Sox trading for Halladay. All and all I think Roy starts the season in Toronto, then traded towards the TDL for a CC type package. And then he hits the open market next off season.
  16. Link? That was fast. edit: http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/70368887.html
  17. Miggy's weight isn't the concern right now(maybe down the road), it's his attitude. yes it would probably make the deal easier if the Sox took on Magglio's deal, but like I stated earlier, they can but it out for 3M if they get really desperate. exp1, I agree Granderson and Jackson is a nice start to a package for Felix. Way more ML ready talent then the Sox can muster. But i think Grnaderson is fools gold, the Yankees will over pay for him, and he will put up decent numbers @ Coors East. He K's way too much for a lead off hitter, I don't care if he does hit 30 HR a season.
  18. Put dojji on suicide watch stat!
