  1. Hell of a play from Gardner. Not sure why he was playing so shallow, but he covered a lot of ground on that one
  2. And why no Soriano? Robertson in the 8th
  3. And Joba gives 2 of them back. Cmon man
  4. I'll be cursing him when he stops hitting his spots
  5. Garcia is crafty. He has a ton of big league experience and knows how to pitch. He gets by without a big fastball because he throws a 4 seamer, a 2 seamer, a change, a slider and a splitter. He varies his slider to be a slurve at times and sometimes is looks like a curve. The guy has pulled a Mussina at this point, a converted power pitcher who has learned how to pitch. If he loses his command, then he'll be batting practice, but through 1.5 starts, his command is pretty good. The thing I like about him is that he is around the plate and pounds the zone, but isnt afraid to get guys to chase.
  6. maybe he goes to left and Crawford moves to RF?
  7. How about Magglio Ordonez? He's off to a rough start, but the guy can still hit and could be a good one yr option while Kalish gets ready
  8. His defense and arm are pretty solid. Offensively, this season, he has been a one tool player. He's still seeing over 4 pitches per plate appearance, but he's expanded his zone a bit and isnt taking the walks he took last season. If he hits to .270 and can walk 70+ times a season, he'll be very valuable for this team. His issue right now is that his BABIP is very low (.189) and he isnt walking. I would give him at least another month to see if he can revert to last yrs solid season.
  9. Thus far this yr, he has sucked. Last yr, he was very valuable. I hope he can regain that production
  10. Might as well. No harm in doing so. Although it is his throwing shoulder, and a torn labrum isnt something that heals with rehab. You can strengthen the cuff and see if that keeps the strength and stability of his shoulder. If it was his non throwing shoulder, I'd say he probably wouldnt need surgery. But since it is his throwing shoulder, he's more than likely headed to the OR. Regardless, he's an outfielder, not a pitcher. This is something he should be close to full strength come 2012 should he go under the knife
  11. alright, good night y'all.
  12. Right behind Youk's head there. Yowzah. Either a message pitch or Santana is wild as s***. Regardless, I expect a retaliatory strike here
  13. The sox pitching is supposed to be good. They finally started clicking. We'll see if DiceK and Lackey can keep it up.
  14. He's leaving a lot of hittable pitches that are being "just" missed. I think he is doing what the sox want in throwing more strikes, but he is a few centimeters away from being down 4-2
  15. Gardy might be breaking out. A double and a homer after looking terrible for 16 games. If he breaks out, then our running game might kick up again
  16. I thought that ball hit by Wells was going a lot further
  17. I hope they have Joba go headhunting tomorrow. Maybe they can go hunting for some Markakis
  18. Just missed his noggin. The Halos are getting good swings, though
  19. Even Gardner got into the action
  20. This Angels lineup isnt very potent without Morales. Hunter is still a good hitter, but Wells is close to washed up and the Halos have a bunch of punch and judy hitters. They always give the Yanks trouble, but I doubt they keep up with the Rangers. Or the A's for that matter, who I think are the dark horse for the west title this yr. Their rotation is loaded
  21. From rotoworld--- This is a little more info than the sox press release of him having a badly sprained shoulder.
  22. I hope he gives up 14 runs yet strikes out the side every inning...
  23. Who knows what that means. Do they mean his AC joint was separated/sprained? Do they mean his capsule is torn? Did he tear the cuff? Is his labrum shredded? It could range from him being out a couple weeks to him eventually needing surgery and being out for the yr. A sprain is used in laymen's terms to mean nothing serious, but medically a sprain involves a tear to a ligament, and the degree of the sprain determines if it is a mild tear or a complete tear. I think the media release of "significantly sprained" is nothing to be worried about or take solace in until they update it
  24. I love De Leon's raw power as well, but with 23K in 15 games, I am becoming more reluctant to believe he will become anything in the bigs. He is young, only 20, but if he continued to be Serrano up there, he cannot be a big leaguer. We need to ship a live chicken to Charleston pronto
  25. Ramon Flores is really showing up. He's a very speedy OFer, 19 yrs old with a good eye. He's now hit 2HRs on the year and has an OPS over .950 to start the yr Also Heathcott had 2 more hits tonight and Kelvin De Leon smacked his third dinger as well
