  1. edit. Yes he did. But Martin once again overslide the base
  2. I dont get why Garcia isnt going right after f***ing Tek and Scutaro. These guys arent big power guys
  3. That ball is out of most every other stadium. We're putting the bat on the ball well, but a lot of at em balls. This hasnt been the Beckett we've seen the last few times vs NY. He's hittable tonight thus far, the balls just arent falling in.
  4. Garcia pitched the AB to Reddick perfectly. He hit the down and away corner then went down and in for the K. With Ells, he elevated the ball and got the popup
  5. If I were a father of a kid who could understand baseball (my kid is 2 months old), I'd show them Beckett's start and teach them that his way of attacking good hitters is the way to go. Most pitchers are afraid to elevate the ball to Tex because he can hit it out, but if you only operate below the belt, you shorten the window that Tex needs to protect. Beckett throws a riding 2 seamer up and out of the zone that gets the lefties to chase
  6. It's irrelevant RSFFS. You pitch differently based on situation.
  7. Banuelos threw a gem today. 6IP 7H 1ER 0BB 5K Betances threw well in likely his last game in AA. 5IP 6H 2ER 1BB 7K 1 walk between them today is an encouraging sign Also, Montero may be brought up tomorrow. With Posada being told he's no longer the DH, that means, IMO that we'll see the kid down the stretch
  8. We'll probably score 2-3 runs and see the sox pen for at least 2 innings. The problem is, right now, Garcia is meat. If I were Girardi, I'd have a reliever warm in the 5th again akin to what he did on Friday. We have a shutdown pen again, it's time to use the strength
  9. This isnt looking up for us. Garcia isnt hitting the corners, and without that, he's useless
  10. Garcia is having trouble getting the sox to bite. Garcia let's you get yourself out, but professional hitters can wait him out
  11. The more I read, the less likely it sounds that Rathjen will sign. From the sounds of it, his medicals are looking good and he seems to be on track to recover well, but he hasnt done anything baseball related and wants a lot of money. It doesnt sound like the Yanks are going to meet his number, although they might come close and see if he bites. I'd look at this kid like a Brackman from a few yrs ago, except his issue is knee related and he will cost less
  12. Glad I missed the crap on the forum. I watched horrified from a bar at Mohegan. CC was due for a stinker. The sox don't "own" him, though. Last night, he couldn't locate anything. Baltimore would have taken him to task
  13. For what? Being a pest? I'll tell you, I love Nunez and think he should be taking away some PT from the captain. He brings a different dimension offensively because of his speed and capability to hit for gap power. He's gonna be a pretty good one
  14. .260 21HR 62RBI and the offensive MVP of a team clawing for the playoffs.
  15. Our staff has a better ERA than the sox and is actually full of guys who've done it before. This isnt an Aaron Small thing where a career MiLBer goes on fire. These are guys who have been aces in the past who know how to pitch in the bigs. Thing is, injuries derailed both their careers and now they seem to have rectified their arsenal, even if one of them may have used illegal methods. But the biggest thing from last night was Soriano. He looked filthy again. 93-95 in the stadium and nobody looked comfortable against him. If he's healthy for the stretch run, our games will be 6 innings long. And with Wade, Ayala, and Logan throwing the way they have been lately, the games can get even shorter
  16. Trumbo hands down
  17. They needed me to go to the game!! Awesome! Now, need to find my way home
  18. I have good vibes about this series. No AJ Burnett for one, CC not facing off vs Beckett and we do get our second power pitcher on the hill tonight. Very excited. Well, time to get ready and go into town. Any recommendations?
  19. SRO, but better than nothing!
