  1. He's one of the best offensive weapons of all time. He may suck now, but he is a sure fire 1st ballot HOFer. Thats like saying Jerry Rice sucks right now. Of course he does, he's 44 yrs old
  2. why ignore him? It's like watching a car crash, the result can be messy, but you cannot look away.
  3. Abruptly, apparently he didnt want to take a big pay cut. First ballot HOFer and big time *******
  4. Yankees have the best OPS vs lefties in baseball at .826. The whole lefty thing isnt really a big issue
  5. Yankees are making a push with Rathjen. He's a surefire 1st round talent who blew out his ACL and was selected in the 44th round this yr. Apparently his medicals look good after his surgery and the Yankees are making a good run at him. Hope we get him
  6. Until they used a humador. And he played in the ultimate pitchers league against terrible lineups. Suns, he's got a ton of talent, but the risk is high for him and the cost was humongous. If he becomes a 4.50ERA pitcher with a ton of walks for you guys, then your GM will have buttf***ed your future for an AJ Burnett
  7. He was an ace for half a season last yr. He's been sporadic since then.
  8. Those 7 probably are.... 1. Montero 2. Betances 3. Banuelos 4. Romine 5. Sanchez 6. Williams 7. Heathcott
  9. Banuelos isnt being challenged in AA. His issue this yr has been his command of the fastball since he gained so much velo. When he was signed, he sat 90 and touched 92. Now he's sitting 94 and touching 97, but the command has gone a bit. And the Yankees sometimes promote players when their numbers dont show much, but their performance does. My guess is they worked on something in AA and are now letting him loose at the higher level to see what they have. I still think the brass envisions this kid being a lefty reliever for the playoffs.
  10. That's the thing. Ranuado is in high A right now and struggling. Pomeranz just dominated that level and is in AA where he's been lights out through 3 starts
  11. You're calling me a troll? LOL. Sorry I have been right, oh, almost every time when it comes to injuries. Almost every damn time. You know, the funny thing is, I am proven right AGAIN, and you still cannot give me credit. I went to medical school and finished residency. What are your credentials there layman?
  12. That isnt what I meant. His brain has healed as much as it can. Now, it's all about re-learning what he did in the past. Effectively a re-wiring of what is left. After a brain injury like his, you will never get back to what you were. But you can get back to being able to walk without trouble and he should regain his balance over time with intensive therapy.
  13. http://www.nj.com/thunder/index.ssf/2011/07/trenton_thunder_ace_manny_banu.html Montero to be promoted to the bigs very soon. Romine and Betances soon to come to AAA as well
  14. It's all about location. So saying that others have had this isnt really relevant. You can have an AVM in your frontal lobe, have it resected and be no worse for wear. This was a brainstem AVM. Every single axon coming from your brain sans the first few cranial nerves pass through the brainstem. It is the part of your body that keeps you alive. Having a surgery focused there is devastating, especially in a sport where quick hands and recognition are paramount. This isnt a TBI, this is a focused neurologic injury on an absolutely vital portion of the brain. He was using a walker and had a facial droop after the surgery. He still lacks the dexterity to do basic functions yet he's giving it a go at the sport he loves. He's an inspiration, but his brain has recovered to the extent that it ever will since he's a ways out from his surgery. Now it's all about teaching himself how to do things again. And those tasks that he's been effected on will never be the same, even if he can relearn how to do them.
  15. CC isnt leaving NY, just saying. Buchholz should be fine after this heals, but it'll take 2 months of doing NO throwing for this to heal. Allowing him to keep throwing essentially worsened his condition. And after it heals, he'll need side sessions and a rehab stint, which wont be available come postseason. He may, and this is a very big reach, but may be a pen option for the playoffs, but there is no way his arm is stretched out enough by season's end to be a starter. Bedard is your new #3. And Bedard is about as injury prone as they come. Will be interesting to see how he fares in Fenway instead of in the pitcher haven of SafeCo
  16. I do see about 5 people per week with back injuries on average. I don't make this s*** up
  17. Also, pulled muscles bleed, so you can see that on the scan. Inflammation can obscure a disc issue, which is why most people with back injuries that aren't neurologically compromising should get MRIs after the swelling goes down. My guess is that the exam will lead to another MRI where the problem will be found
  18. Not true. Once again, the info gathered was an MRI right after initial injury being unremarkable. Persistence of pain, especially after a workout doesn't sound muscular at all. Typically muscular pain is during exertion, not typically after. And muscle injuries don't "linger", they either re-pull or they get better. Kinda like running on a pulled hammy, it may be a little sore but if you overdo it, it pulls again. Nothing about his reported symptoms sounded muscular. I called it from about 2 weeks. It's now almost 6 weeks, and you guys called me a homer. Here's your crow
  19. Once again, people skewered me for giving a sound medical opinion and once again, I look to be right. You guys should be full of crow from the ellsbury fiasco last yr, but the second helping is comin
