  1. 4-11 was vs a different team. Your team right now is beat up, overworked, and broken.
  2. I am a bit conflicted in terms of who to root for. The Yanks are effectively assured of a playoff spot and are close to locks for the division, so the WC doesnt really matter for our first round matchup. But TB is the better play in the playoffs due to their rotation and their health, but I hate the red sox.
  3. Wells, if you thought the old YS was massive, wait until you see the new one. It is easily the most impressive ballpark I have been in. Chase Field is the second. What a nice field, climate controlled and cheap as hell. 25 bucks got me a 1st row seat
  4. Fenway, Shea Stadium, old Yankee Stadium, new Yankee Stadium, Chase Field
  5. Concussion, probably out for the season.
  6. The sox "future" is now. They gutted their upper levels and the biggest name they have is Lavarnway, who is a DH. The sox MiLB system is gutted until you get to A ball.
  7. Youkilis looks badly injured out there. He cannot seem to swing, he cannot go to his knees, he cannot dive. He looks like a wounded animal out there. And Gonzo, we'll see if it is just tight or if he pulled it. If he pulled it, he's out till the playoffs, if it is just tight, he might be able to DH tomorrow
  8. The sox are a full 44 innings up on the Yankees in pen innings. That's nearly 5 games worth. Package that with a less effective pen and you get this result. Your key guys get abused and your pen is dead when you need it most
  9. Dante Bichette was named the GCL MVP
  10. This is what happens when you completely burn out your relievers. They go all Scott Proctor on you. He's near the top in appearances over the last 2 yrs and IP.
  11. Beckett and Lester will throw 3 of the 5 games in the ALDS, assuming they make it. The Phils will choose the long series, so the short one will have the sox go to Beckett and Lester both on 3 days rest, which isnt good for the sox. Lets say the sox get the WC, their edge will be eaten up in the ace column by Verlander and then 2 more games will be thrown by Lackey, Miller, or name your starter. The sox are almost better off facing Texas since the advantage in the rotation wont be as up front and they can just try to slug it out.
  12. Youk is a liability right now
  13. Well, the sox O decided to show up. Morrow was pretty bad, Luis Perez was abysmal. He should never face the sox again. I think the major question is, can the middle relief hold a 5 run lead for 2 innings
  14. Jenks has a pulmonary embolus. He'll be on blood thinners for at least 9 months and his playing career will be in jeopardy. You really shouldnt play organized sports on blood thinners
  15. And the Jays back on top, wow
  16. Papi out with back spasms
  17. Lackey looked terrible the first half of the yr and he looked worse in spring training. Regardless, what happened to the Yanks isnt gonna happen again. You dont make 2 scrap heap signings and bring in a rookie and turn that into a solid #2-4 in your rotation in the AL East. That's not happening again
  18. You cannot replace an ace when they go down, just ask the Cardinals. The Yanks prepared this season with 6 starters. We lost one for a long time, but he's back. Another one fell off the map come August. The rest are still pumping out quality starts. With this offense, that's all you need. The sox lost their #3 and #5 starters, their #4 is now the worst pitcher in baseball, their #6 got really old real quick and lost the flutterball, the #1 missed a few starts, they acquired the guy we'd call a #7 and he's out, they had to turn to #8 and #9 down the stretch as well. Doubront got hurt and is now a pen arm. Basically, their #1 and #2 has somewhat healthy yrs. After that, it's been a mess. This isnt Theo's doing. This is just s*** luck
  19. The only yellow light on Buch was the fact that last yr was truly his first full yr in the bigs. Lots of second yr guys wore down this yr. Matusz, Cecil, Hughes, and Buchholz all either lost their velocity or had wear and tear kind of injuries ruin their years.
  20. So now you've gone from the sox will go to the playoffs 100%, no doubt, to don't blame the FO for their predicament. Sounds like someone is shifting in case the sox collapse
  21. Magic # for Playoffs is now 10, for the ALE, it's 13
  22. 4 games overall now with 2 more in Seattle. I likey!
  23. I doubt Theo would be ready to throw a near Lee contract at Wilson
