  1. this will stay up for a little bit, then I am pulling it down again
  2. Youk as DH provides you with flexibility, though. He could play 3b and 1b still, just not on a full time basis
  3. I think that is a good comp. Slade has 5 tool potential and will run through a wall to get the ball. Unfortunately, that is his problem, he keeps hurting himself diving and running into walls
  4. SO GOOD, SO GOOD!!
  5. Shaugnessy is starting to warm up the hate machine again. I kinda miss some of Shaugnessy's vitriolic articles. I have a feeling the entire winter will be filled with them
  6. BAH BAH BAH!!
  7. I just heard Don Wakamatsu
  8. Sweet Caroline, bah bah bah, good times never seemed so good, SO GOOD, SO GOOD!
  9. If you do that, you still can keep a 3 man rotation if you go to CC and Nova on short rest. But, the likelihood is that we throw Colon in game 4 and then go to CC on short rest in game 5
  10. I move CC back to game 2 now and throw Nova tomorrow starting in the third inning
  11. Don't forget to sing Sweet Caroline and wear your pink hat
  12. Is the reaction to this season to throw more money at the problem, though? That's the question, everyone wants to go out and get the shiny new toy, but the team was one of the best in the bigs before their depth and their leadership went awry. If I were the sox GM, I would improve the depth, get a back end pitcher capable of throwing innings and upgrade the bench.
  13. Burnett??? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
  14. They very well may have. This will definitely play into our hands though. Our pen is much better than the Tigers and we've already gotten an extra inning out of CC
  15. JP Ricciardi.....please, please, please do that. I would be soooooo happy if Ricciardi was the GM of the Red Sox. Make it so!!
  16. They could release him, but they wont. He's an ace, he'll be exactly a yr removed from surgery when ST starts and he will likely regain his ace status by midseason
  17. he's right FDD
  18. Bard was absolutely horrible as a starter in the minors. The sox cleaned up his mechanics, shortened his arsenal to two pitches, and put him into the stretch full time and he became a pen ace. If you try to move him back, you risk losing his effectiveness.
  19. your system was great. You graduated a few (Lester, Buchholz, Ellsbury, Youkilis, Pedroia, Reddick, Bard, Papelbon), traded a bunch (Hanley, Masterson, Hagadone, Anibal Sanchez, Casey Kelly, Rizzo, etc). And then you shifted gears and drafted HSers big time since 2009, which puts a lot of their ETA's into the 2013-2015 yrs.
  20. Ranaudo is a top 10 talent for the sox. He is probably a 80-100+ player for all of MLB.
  21. Reyes will make 21-23 mil per yr. Wilson will likely make 18-20 mil per yr. You wanna add 40 mil per season in contracts after your team has had problems with free agent pickups?
  22. 25 pitches and a rain delay for Verlander. CC at least got through 2 innings. If we can work Verlander as we were doing, we can get him out of the game after 6 innings. And then we can feast
  23. I have some qualms with the above... Heathcott being compared with Gardner isnt a good comp. Slade hasnt proven he can steal bases with consistency, although he has the speed. And Heathcott has a lot more power than Gardner ever did. JR Murphy's comp with Martin is also a little off. Murphy looks like he will have the better bat, but his defense still needs work. And we all know Martin's calling card is his glove. Adams being top 15 I also have a little problem with. Adams has top notch talent, and I dont think the ceiling of Pedroia is off at all. It's just the ankle injury that continues to linger that dropped him in my mind And in a system this deep, there is no room for ranking Ray Kruml. He has no chance in this organization
  24. Brackman is a RP. He's in AAA, hence why he has an edge on Montgomery. Quintana has some fringe stuff but good location. He's a lefty which is why he made the list. Sanchez is top 10, there is no big issue here. Culver over Gumbs mostly because of position. I think Gumbs ends up in the OF, and Culver projects as a solid big league shortstop.
