  1. Not necessarily. Obviously, anyone is game for the right price. It just doesn't make sense to drop his value when you could potentially enhance it
  2. There is no reason for him to be on the big league roster. His value increases if his defense improves
  3. This yr, AAA catcher. Next yr, DH and backup catcher. Long term, I think he's a DH
  4. The Yankee farm., Sorry
  5. Youkilis is the only one who you can legitimately say is slowing down. He may be 33, but with his body type he might as well be 38
  6. Yep, the Yankees had two guys that missed the list by a spot or two in Santana and Bichette. Overall, our farm is strong
  7. a shortened delivery. A slide step is no leg kick at all by definition
  8. Scout.com released their rankings.... Pertinent Yankees: 5. Montero 9. Banuelos 28. Betances 50. Sanchez 96. Williams Pertinent Red Sox 42. Bogaerts 61. Kalish 63. Ranaudo 67. Swihart 68. Middlebrooks
  9. A minimal leg lift delivery is not a slidestep. A slide step is a no leg lift delivery. Regardless, the sox have always been known as a team that focuses on the hitter and the running game be damned. That philosophy is usually productive since losing the hitter but keeping the runner from stealing puts 2 guys on instead of 1
  10. The sox are good, but the reason why I agree with this article is the fact that 2 yrs in a row they have been pretty banged up and the personnel that had been on the DL hasnt changed much.
  11. Millwood>Miller and Weiland. You needed one more win to stay alive. Remember that, just one
  12. Zito is signed through 2013, so he will still be on the books in the first season of an extension for Cain.
  13. He used to be a top prospect when he was in Philly, but he never really materialized into anything
  14. Cain may be the better bet for the next 5-6 yrs, but Lincecum is still very young and is the face of the franchise. They lose him, and they will seriously piss off their base
  15. He had a broken collarbone and a nagging back injury. They released him because he broke his collarbone tooling around on a bike when he was supposed to be rehabbing from his back injury
  16. At least one of Cain or Hamels will make it to FA, and I think that would be Hamels. The Phils already have 2 pitchers locked up to 20+ mil per yr contracts and having a third would be pretty problematic for future additions to the club. I actually think both will make it. Cain is second fiddle in SF and the Giants are having trouble gathering the funds for Lincecum, let alone Cain. Plus, the emergence of Baumgartner has made Cain a little less of an emergency. The problem with both of these teams is that they will both be contending at the deadline, so we know a trade isnt in the cards
  17. That sounds more like a sales pitch than reality. Lets look at what the A's got for Gonzalez and what the Rockies got for Ubaldo, two player who cannot sniff the jock of Felix. Both trading teams got the top 2 prospects in the receiving teams system, and both of those prospects were top 50 caliber league wide. That's a hell of a haul. Now, what you are offering is an arb eligible setup man who hasnt proven he can start at all as a pro and a corner IFer who is coming off his worst statistical season since his first full campaign who is on the wrong side of 30 and has finished each of the last 2 seasons on the bench with injuries. Both guys have their value, but it isnt enough for Felix, not even close, and at least Youkilis wouldnt fit into the plan of a rebuilding team
  18. Doubront was groomed as a reliever last yr due to his string of injuries. I am unsure whether they plan to put him back in the rotation
  19. If the M's go out and deal Felix, they're going to go into full out rebuild mode. That would make an older, frequently injured 1b unattractive to them.
  20. Wilson has thrown 4 games in AAA, but I see your point. He is an option, but he's probably better off spending most of the yr in Pawtucket. And after looking through his arsenal, he sounds like more like a future reliever than a starter as he doesn't have a good 3rd or fourth offering
  21. Booby Jenks had another back surgery to remove some bone chips. He will be unable to start spring training on time
  22. Oswalt is really out of major suitors, so he's either going to recoup his value in obscurity or he's going to come to on of our teams. Kuroda is just trying to jack up his price to he can return to the west coast, maybe Seattle.
