Nova looked pretty f***ing good today. 7IP 10H 2ER 0BB 7K. Of the 10 hits, only a few were well struck. I love the command today, though, and the huge thing was the K's. This is a guy who struck out 98 in 165IP last yr. He was always a contact pitcher, but added a slider at the end of last season which gave him a strikeout pitch if he needed it. Today, he was on point with the sinker, the slider, the change and the slow curve. The only HR was on a high change, otherwise, he kept it down. He also didnt seem to cave to the pressure of having runners on. I like this kid when he's going right. In the spring, he looked awful, then he comes out with better velocity and stuff than he showed all spring. Here's to hoping he can keep up his swing and miss stuff, cause he could really be a good one
