    A week wont do him any good, to be totally honest. It must be a small tear if they are allowing him to go through with it. The only problem is that a small tear in a muscle does weaken it and it is possible that he could tear the whole thing if he overextends himself. And a complete tear would be nearly season ending at this point

    I was literally going to create this same thread last night, but had other things to do. There are three phases to this discussion.... The first phase is to determine what your team will be, a seller, a buyer or a holder The second is to determine which teams are out of it. The third is to determine which players on those teams would be upgrades and part of that is taking into account players that have no shot of being dealt (ie nobody should be pining for Carlos Gonzalez from the Rockies, he aint getting traded)... Thus far, I still think the Sox and the Yanks are buyers at the deadline. Teams that are out of it right now are... Minnesota Twins KC Royals Seattle Mariners Oakland A's Chicago Cubs San Diego Padres Colorado Rockies

    Pal, I do think he has overpowering stuff. I had heard SRs on him in the minors possessing mid 90s heat, but whenever he came to the bigs, he didnt have it. Now, he is starting to harness it. He has 2 knockout pitches between the heat and the breaking ball. And his change isnt bad either. He is turning into a much better pitcher than any of us thought, and he is getting better. He reminds me a lot of Lester at the beginning, a lefty with powerful stuff but intermittent command. If he keeps harnessing it, he could eventually be a Lester type pitcher

    sox have 1 easy series between now and June 28th. Just a grind of a schedule here

    2 more doubles today and an insurance RBI. We also saw Kuroda mow down the A's in a very encouraging fashion. A save away from a 5 game win streak, staring at a Hughes start vs a streaking Angels team. Will be interesting to see

    Sweeney is coming back down to earth, has a .784 OPS and a .392BABIP. To contrast that, Reddick has a .273BABIP

    The Rays pick up guys with power stuff coming off bad seasons. Their only big acquisition was Soriano who they dealt for. 2008- Percival- FA 2009- Percival imploded, hence Howell led team in saves 2010- Soriano- trade 2011- Farnsworth- FA 2012- Rodney- FA Rejects off the scrap heap with power stuff who can still do the job

    If I were Maddon, I would actually not go for the HBP. I usually advocate it, but nothing unifies a team like a fight, especially for the sox. No need to give them a reason to unify
