  1. The arm angles need to be with all pitches. If he throws all fastballs over the top and all sliders out of the 3/4 slot, he's going to get smacked.
  2. This argument flies int he face of your point, hence you call it noise. The Yankees will still be there come the end of the season. I will rub it in your face and own your sig.
  3. You can create a question mark anywhere you want. I still think the Yankees staff will end up being one of the best in baseball. But without our offense, we're going to be playing a lot of 3-2 games this yr
  4. LOL at the pitching, or LOL at me making that comment, or both? I said they should be in games nearly every night, I didnt say they'd win games every night. Without Grandy, ARod, and Tex, this team is in trouble offensively
  5. They still have the pitching, which should keep them in games nearly every night.
  6. The funny thing is, the only old guy to go down is ARod and we knew of that in November. With all this talk about age, our 32 yr old 1b and our 31 yr old OFer are the spring casualties so far. LOL
  7. Porcello is a guy who they rushed to the big leagues and he's been behind in getting his s*** right. He just turned 24 yrs old and has had 4 complete big league seasons. He also has very good stuff, just inconsistent command. He's your prototypical rookie who, instead of being brought through the minors slowly was overexposed at the big league level and has learned on the fly. His BABIP is incredibly high and even with the low K rate, it's risen every year. He's learning. A change of scenery and a new pitching coach could be all that stands in his way of becoming an ace
  8. In terms of what we'd do, we'd probably move Youk to first base and use Corban Joseph and David Adams in a platoon. In terms of our offense, we're gonna be f***ed. I hope Cano starts off guns blazing through early May or we're f***ed
  9. ??? No way. Porcello is worth way more than Bailey.
  10. The Angels actually revamped their staff quietly. Their 1-2 is as good as any in baseball in Weaver and Wilson. They got Vargas from Seattle who has quietly been on of the more consistent starters in the majors the last 3 yrs. They got Tommy Hanson who is a good pitcher with some injury woes, but if he can stay healthy, he has top of the rotation potential. And they have Blanton for the five, who will likely need replacing come seasons end. That lineup in LAA is deadly. They have 4 guys capable of hitting 30+ HR, they have a SS and CFer who'll steal 30+ bags and a solid player in Kendrick manning second. Their biggest concerns will like in Bourjos' ability to stay healthy and with their C position. Can Iannetta stay healthy? They're gonna be in this thing the whole way. Also, I think Albert is going to win the AL MVP
  11. Melky Mesa's first name is actually Melquisedec, which is a pretty cool name if you ask me
  12. Mesa backed out in an attempt to win the LF job
  13. They run a similar risk in ST. My hope is that Tex has a better start due to his participation
  14. Sox, you're recovering from a purge. The jays are benefitting from one. Big difference
  15. The most recent mock I have seen has Austin Wilson slipping to 8th. I've seen him as low as 12th. There is no way in God's green earth that he should get past the sox. They'd be out of their f***ing minds if they pass on this kid.
  16. Like I've said before, Ellsbury is a victim of freak accidents. How can you fault him for Beltre running full bore into his ribs. And how can you fault him for a middle infielder accidently falling at the right angle to sublux his shoulder. The rib injury is ancient history. But the labral tear could play into his production if he still has effects from it. It could diminish his ability to lift the ball and kill his power
  17. Multiple rib fractures and a labral tear take months to recover from. Especially if you refracture the ribs by coming back too soon
  18. Dutch, this is where I disagree. The top 15 picks in the draft have something like a 60% chance of making the majors. Picks 15-30 have a 30%-ish chance of making it. There arent too many guys who would fit into the top 15 list compared to years past. But there are a lot of guys who would fit into the 15-30 range of years past if you get my drift. There may only be 8 players who would otherwise have been classified as a top 15 player in years past. There may be 30 guys who would fit into the #15-30 range in years past. The field once you get past the Meadows', Manaea, Appel's, Bryant's of the draft drops off to a level that it stays at for another 30 picks or so. There is a lot of depth in this draft, just not a lot of guys who profile as franchise stalwarts
  19. I know you are gone, but will be back... I doubt his stock took a hit with the first round turn down when he was in HS. He's a college junior now and the kid crushes the ball. Also, your comment was obviously directed at the Yankees, nice subtlety. This yr's draft is short on the top talent and deep on the middle of the 1st round kind of players. There may only be a handful of guys who you know will be good and no real superstars in the draft unlike years past. But there are a lot of players in that #15-#25 range for most seasons, so having multiple picks should be somewhat of a boon. The sox should fall into the range where they can get a guy who should be a big leaguer without a doubt.
  20. I don't enjoy the idea of anyone going down your path, but unfortunately it's a path that many people go down.
  21. I never said I wished for it. Just predicted it.
  22. First of all, I was banned for my actions once, I was contrite about it and worked it out. You have had a dozen screen names with 4 in 4 days and email a pic of someone who's been scalped to everyone here without regard for the injured or the members here. Hardly similar. Second, your lack of responsibility reminds me of the addicts I see on a daily basis. My guess is you still live with mommy? Will anyone miss you when you mainline a little too much dope? My guess is no one
  23. I'm just wondering how far down the path of delinquency you have gone. I fully expect that you'll end up a heroine addict with no life skills and die alone on the street
