  1. If Moran falls here, he's getting to the sox
  2. Stewart is another top 10 talent
  3. Appel, Bryant, Gray. No big surprises here
  4. Bryant and Gray go 2-3. Really no surprises through 3
  5. Appel goes #1. Houston isn't f***ing around
  6. Nice to see the Yankees win and the sox losing when I get back
  7. You know the one thing this whole PED scandal could lead to is ARod's retirement. He's been pushed by his body betraying him to a point where he is willing to bend the rules once again. If he gets suspended for it for 100 games and he has to contend with coming back to fans who hate him, it might be enough for him to hang it up. It also might be enough for the Yankees to finally jettison that contract.
  8. Exactly. Trading for Stanton now while he is still under control for a few yrs will decimate any system. You're talking Webster, Bogaerts, Ranaudo, Barnes, etc. It would be a 4 for 1
  9. I admitted that I didn't know. You and I looked it up. Now I know they could be. What is your deal Dutch?
  10. Losing Cano for 50 games would suck. But I highly doubt it will happen. The head of his charity is listed as a recipient. They're gonna need a lot more than that to suspend him. ARod, though, is the one who could be suspended more than anyone else. According to Bosch, he went to Rodriguez' home and attempted to inject PEDs via IV, but missed his vein.
  11. The PA has to represent them vigorously, they don't have a choice.
  12. Which makes it all the more interesting that ARod would actually allow this quack to come to his home. They also need to ensure this guy is a credible witness. If they can discredit him, then they're all free. If they cannot, then they're going to be in for a fight
  13. I know. They said that they needed more than the document. Now they have it. It is still going to be fought tooth and nail and players who had proxies purchase for them aren't going to have anything to worry about
  14. http://www.sportsonearth.com/article/42907596/ This is a good article that pretty much says the MLB has a case and the players will fight it
  15. Correct. Without a positive drug test, can these players be suspended? That is the question. I don't know
  16. I wish they could just ban him for life and give us his salary back. Oh the things we could do with that $27.5 mil
  17. We're talking about it in the game thread
  18. What, that a legal document is held to it's every letter when it is said to be enforced?
  19. They may have compelling evidence, but if the CBA requires a positive test, then they will all get off scott free. It is all based on the written word in the agreement. I don't know what the CBA says, but it will be interesting to see what it does. I am sure there will be all the standard pundits on ESPN talking about it in detail. I look forward to that analysis.
  20. ARod might get suspended seeing as Bosch tried to start an IV to inject drugs into him. Cano is a different animal. If the drugs were moved under a proxy and no paper is trailed back to him AND there was no witness to the usage, then I highly doubt they could do anything to him. Also, the current policy requires a failed drug test, so I doubt anyone is getting hit in this scandal. MLB is going to try and suspend these guys and their suspensions will be overturned on appeal. The only players whose suspensions will not be overturned are minor leaguers since they aren't afforded the luxury of the appeals process
  21. Good to see Tex center that one. Now lets see if Phelps can hold it
  22. Youkilis isn't getting in. Ortiz isn't getting in mostly because of the PED issue and his DH effect. Had he not had the PED cloud, he'd be a borderline case because his offense is and was THAT good. The guys who put up big counting stats make it in based on what they do after 35. The guys who dominated a position for a decade will get in, even if they fade late in their career. Also, winning goes a long way as does being the leader on the team. Pedroia gets in assuming no catastrophic injury. Lester isn't even close mostly because he's basically wasted 2 yrs of his prime plus lost some yrs of his prime with cancer. He's just not that dominant. You know who is on pace to get in? Papelbon. He's already had 7 consecutive seasons of 30+ saves and he is only 32 and in the midst of a vintage yr. If he keeps this up for another 3 yrs or so, he'll end up as one of the best of all time (nowhere close to the best, btw)
  23. Stanton would be a game changer for the sox. And, if he were to come to Beantown, he'd have a fair share of games at DH once Papi moved on. The guy would be a perennial 50HR candidate in the bean
  24. and most homers to LF in fenway would likewise be flyouts.
  25. I kinda figured Dutch was back. Are you going to show us brains again?
