  1. Ah, that makes sense. Didn't look like it cut all that much
  2. 2-0, but rally ended. That sucks
  3. And Soriano looks like a 3 yr old swinging their father's bat. And he looks like he has a 3 yr old's bat speed
  4. Buch's last FB was 87mph
  5. So maybe Pineda should wipe that s*** off. Wow, that's a lot of pine tar
  6. Buchholz looks good, but we also look pretty bad.
  7. It's irrelevant whether the Yankees or the sox have more money. They both have the money to field $200+million teams. It's more about the value with them, and I doubt signing a 30+ yr old starter with a lot of miles to a big money, long term extension is something they want to do. I can nearly guarantee that Lester hits the market
  8. Like I said before. This guy is giving 6 inches off the outside corner.
  9. Rothschild needs to go out there now. Pineda is opening up a little quick and missing the zone up. Just take some pressure off the kid
  10. Both guys are getting the outside corner and then some.
  11. Last pitch to JBJ was a strike
  12. Sitting 90-91, saw a few 92's. Much better than last start
  13. Sterling is okay now, in my book. He has a schtick and he does it well. But Waldman sounds like a cat getting gutted with a spoon
  14. I only saw highlights the first game and saw the gamecast velocities. But his stuff is ridiculously filthy
  15. d-money, you have to go right after the sox hitters. They are incredibly patient, so if you dick around with the zone, you might throw 5 pitches per batter and walk the yard
  16. Pineda taking advantage of the sox patience and throwing a first pitch cockshot. He'll need to change that around after the first time through the order
  17. Napoli is hitting the ball all over the diamond right now. The shift is kinda dumb
  18. We have now batted 8 times in support of Michael Pineda and have yet to push across a run.
  19. This guy is giving off the outside corner for both sides.
  20. Buchholz has regained his velocity
  21. says the guy rooting for the team playing Sweet Caroline at the 7th inning stretch
  22. They had to do this with Workman. Buchholz looked completely terrible. Now, there is a difference in being off and being terrible. Buchholz works best when he's in the low to mid 90s and when his pitches have bite. All his pitches were flat and I am not sure he hit 90 in his entire first start. You cannot lose both your velocity and your bite on your pitches. You lose those and you're done. I think there is more wrong in that shoulder than initially believed. And the fact that the sox are doing this makes me think they agree. This isn't for Doubront, he had a representative start in Baltimore before getting shat on last night. His stuff was still good, he just didn't locate. His rope is going to be long. And Peavy is Peavy, you aren't sending Workman down lying in wait for an injury to him. Workman went down specifically to be an option should Buch not return to form. I remember when Hughes lost his stuff and had dead arm. Took him 3-4 months to get it back. Pineda lost his stuff too and needed shoulder surgery. We'll see which way things go
  23. I disagree with dropping the slider y228. That pitch was filthy when he used it sparingly. He developed it and the fell in love with it, got pounded because it wasn't consistent to use it 20% of the time and then stopped using it. I'd rather he work off the sinker and go for more contact and when he gets to two strikes try to use the slider as a strikeout pitch.
