Foot fractures take a LONG time to heal. A bad sprain can pull off a piece of bone and it’s still treated as a sprain. Even a “small crack” in the foot that’s not an avulsion usually takes a long time. I’m perplexed by the timetable. -
Sounds like a Talar avulsion fracture, which is treated like a bad sprain (ie 10-14 days). If it’s not an avulsion fx, then I literally have no idea how he returns so soon

There will be no “major” deals for the sox this deadline. With Groome staring TJS in the face (he will get it this year, I predict) and the other prospect propped up by the juice, your farm is dead this season. It’ll take Houck and Scherff some time to establish themselves and who knows what Brannen is. You’re not landing a major piece. Maybe you could deal a guy for a lower level reliever.

You can get Lagares from the Mets for free and he’s a damn good CFer defensively. If Bradley puts up a mid .800s OPS, he gets into rarified air. When he’s low .700s, he’s easily replaceable. I think teams will overpay for the history and potentially just get the defense. -
The idea that Stanton is going to suck is stupid. He's got a mechanical problem and it is plain as day right now. His feet are pointed to right yet his body is going all pull. He has a lot of wasted movement which is making him late on everything. He needs to make a simple adjustment on where he meets the ball. That will happen tomorrow. If Boone wasn't a complete dolt, he would have rested Stanton and played Didi all game today and we would have won
