  1. Well goodnight guys. Don't want to be labeled a troll if the sox come back and win. Signing off now
  2. David Price hasn't been the same pitcher since he signed in Boston. Any baseball fan will agree with that. But there is definitely a concerning trend noted since he signed and that is the drop in his velocity. When Price was at his best, he was 93.5 to 95.5 in terms of average velocity of his fastball. His first year in Boston, he was 92.9. Last season, he was injured and saw some time in the pen. He was effective in his shortened time on the big league roster and that was probably due to a boost in his average velo back above 94mph. This year, he is down to 92.5. He doesn't have the power to live high in the zone anymore. He doesn't have the command to live on the corners. He hasn't perfected his ability to pitch as of yet. Price needs to learn from a certain Yankee lefty who has rediscovered himself after being a long term power pitcher. Sabathia used to blow people away. But once his velocity waned, he struggled with homers and was effectively useless until he learned to locate and change speeds much better. Right now, Price is in the throes of diminished stuff and he needs to learn from many pitchers before him lest he ends up being beaten to a pulp
  3. 1st out at 3rd. Running like a moron when up big. Running on Betts. So many stupid issues with that dumb decision
  4. Nobody is going to offer anything for Swihart. It's obvious the sox are hanging onto him only because he is out of options. Eventually the sox will need the roster spot and Blake will be DFA'd.
  5. Might Jbay want to change his name with the new title? Bay didn't exactly endear himself to sox fans
  6. Alright, I am laughing. That is a good one
  7. I'm not getting cocky. I love this. The sox are good. The Yanks are good. Even with you guys "sucking" to the tune of 5-6 in your last 11, you still started 17-2. This is gonna be a hell of a season
  8. It sounds like you have noted improvement with this previously? How does one improve with a phallus in the anus?
  9. Someone is a little cranky cause his team is losing
  10. LOL, you are funny. I got home from work, started posting when the game was close and posted more when they were down. You're just being butthurt right now
  11. I have made a rule for myself never to block anyone. Just my own policy
  12. Bang zoom for Mazara. 10-3!
  13. Same could be said for Oakland against Boston.
  14. Price circa 2016 is back!
  15. Torres with the big clutch hit. Boone rescued from a late pull of Tanaka. Great road trip
  16. Someone is sick of Kimbrel blowing games? He only comes in for close games. He’s dominated in all but two games. One of those games a guy hit a solo HR. I’m confused
  17. How will it not have a severe impact? You will need a SP and a closer. Including Kelly, Pom and Kimbrel, the sox will have $24 mil to spend before they hit the cap. But that $24 mil will be eaten with arb raises alone. Mookie is looking at a big raise. If Xander hits like the .300 25HR hitter he could be, he will get a huge arb raise as well. JBJ just by defense will be looking at a raise. Your pen guys and ERod start seeing some money. Vaz' contract kicks in next season, so he sees a raise. Effectively, the money the sox will retain when their FA's hit market will be reabsorbed into the same team. The Hanley money was the money the sox were going to use to replace their outgoing players or keep them. If Hanley vests, Kimbrel and Pom are definitely gone and you are looking at having to deal from your current squad to replace them just so the salaries match. I told you guys in ST, Hanley cannot vest. There is no way Henry says its okay to run past the upper threshold (90% penalty, $1 mil loss of INTL funds, 1st rounder pushed back 10 picks, likely into the second round). It is developmental suicide for a farm already barren as a desert
  18. Why would he sign an extension when he has $22 mil coming to him next year and a reasonable chance to have it guaranteed. Guys, if he was on the open market today, he would get 1 yr $5 mil or so as a null defensive all offensive DH. Why would he sign a market appropriate extension when he is going to make 4.5 times that in one season alone?
  19. Betts brings to mind a Willie Mays comp. Fast, great fielder, fast baserunner, power, great arm, high BA's, etc. He is becoming a generational talent. He just needs to show he can be bonkers in terms of production on a year to year basis. Last year was a dismal showing for him, although still better than 95% of baseball
  20. Hanley is at 120PA in 27 games. He hasn't appeared in only 3 games. He needs 377PA's over the next 132 games to trigger the option. Barring a serious injury, he is going to hit that, and the sox will really have issues next season fielding the kind of team that is on the field right now
  21. Since the weather improved, our team has been on fire. The bats came to life, but the pitching really started to locate. It's been a blast to watch. The crazy thing is, we can get a lot better. Sanchez and Stanton have been way below career marks. Gray had been terrible. Betances was allowing hits rather than just imploding with command. Betances has come to life of late. Last 6 appearances, 5.1IP 3H 0ER 2BB 11K. And Gray pitched very well against a good lineup in Houston. Stinks to see JMont go down, although German has far more electric stuff and has the higher boom or bust potential. Frazier is now healthy should another OFer go down.
  22. I have a feeling Johnson gets DFA'd and dealt to a team in desperate need of an arm. I wonder if TB would bite on him
