  1. Messages dont get sent as well as they used to ORS. And I would think that your team has stepped over the line for far too long without payback that it is warranted. And in baseball, you wholly accept that the step into the batters box may be the last step you ever take. If you werent willing to accept that, you never would have laced them up. I've had my bell rung a few times and have rung my share of bells. I liked hitting people in the ribs when I thought they crossed the line and I am not ashamed to say that I have headhunted 3 times in my career. Missed once, got the top of the helmet the other and nailed the last kid between the shoulderblades. He went down in a heap. It isnt macho crap. It is baseball. I have never started anything in my career. Never got mad and drilled someone intentionally. Never brushed someone back for the purpose of being an *******. But if someone started something, I finished it. That is how it should be.
  2. I disagree wholeheartedly. Our minor league pitching is so deep that bundling a few together can out-shine any other offer out there. And we have the wildcard in Tabata who I would assume would be a part of any Santana deal.
  3. if it comes to that. Reserved for very few occasions. This being one of them.
  4. "even the guy who can't think said something" Vince Vaughn, Anchorman. Are you kidding me? Albert Belle anyone? ARod's play was not within the rules and he should have been retaliated on. But at least ARod was near the base and was in a slide. Lowell just stopped, thought about it and bumrushed Cano. I would think that the runner at 1st would have been called out regardless.
  5. Hughes is untouchable. But I think Horne, Marquez, and a few others may be on that list. A I have a bad feeling that Cashman may decide to offer them Kennedy, Horne and Tabata. Tabata right now doesnt have much power, but he is 18 in A+ ball and hitting well. Give him time. BTW, Why the f*** is Igawa pitching tomorrow? We have Horne who is absolutely dominating AA right now who is better equipped than Homerun Igawa. Jesus. Are we trying to lose now. WAIT! THEY'RE GOING FOR THE LOTTERY PICK!!! IGAWA FOR STAFF ACE!
  6. decency in baseball is a bunch of f***ing garbage. You brush a guy back or go headhunting if it is warranted. You dont tackle another player. This isnt football. And if you hit a guy in the butt or the back, it doesnt send the kind of message that a nice high and tight heater would. As far as Tony C, get over it dude. That was 30+ yrs ago. We have helmets and armpads and ankle pads and all sorts of wonderful stuff that deadens the pain you SHOULD feel if you bumrush a player on the other team. Lowell may have been pissed because he was drilled yesterday. And he may have been pissed at ARod for the multitude of dumb things he has done. But you dont take that out on a fielder who has every right to tag you out. He should have dropped to the ground and made it harder for Cano. As far as us on the provoking end, are you watching the same games or are you too busy with the red colored rosy glasses. 3 of our guys got drilled yesterday. At what point do you let them know it is enough? Youks was hit intentionally. He didnt deserve to get drilled up where he did, but it happened. Youks did no wrong, he is a clean and he plays hard. But Lowell's crap today was punishable in the world of baseball and the yankees once again puss out when it is warranted. And if you like history, how about the times Pedro and Schilling and nearly every other goddamn sox pitcher dusted or drilled one of our guys and we didnt retaliate. In the Torre era, we have been the targets and seem to never retaliate. We have played pansy league baseball. I hope that stops, cause as a player, I;d be sick of getting ridden off the plate without our pitchers doing the same, while watching those f***ers tee off on everything. Gotta make the other team A: accountable- hence Lowell needed to be drilled, and in a PAINFUL location for his actions and hitting youks last night was a message to the accountability of your staff with their liberal use of the inside pitch B:uncomfortable- the fact that we havent driven Papi off the plate yet and Manny hasnt been dusted since Roger's last stint is sad. This team has no guts and you guys walk all over us. Time for someone to grow a pair and make sure that this s*** doesnt continue to happen and we retaliate EVERY time, not once and then cower.
  7. BTW, another yankee 1st rounder (okay supplemental) is absolutely dominating again. Chamberlain's line so far. 4IP 1H 1ER 0BB 7K. That line has RAISED his season ERA to 1.69. It isnt even fair with him and Kennedy.
  8. I honestly think you will get your wish. I see Kennedy and a few others being dangled this offseason for a certain lefty in Minnesota.
  9. Kennedy is Buchholz's age first of all. Second of all, both should have started at the same level this yr in terms of development as Buchholz really had 3 A+ ball starts under his belt coming in. At the same time, people here have been advocating for Buchholz to come up this season. That is ludicrous. That would mean Buchholz would go from essentially A ball all the way to the majors in one season. For a big shot SP, that is crazy. You start him in A+ ball, promote him to AA mid season. Start him in AAA next yr and he'll be a midseason MLB option. If the sox play this right, Buchholz could be in AAA by the end of the yr and could be a rotation option come Mid season next yr. At that point, it wont be rushing. Another thing to consider. Kennedy does not have Buchholz's ceiling. So that means, Kennedy isnt a can't miss pitcher. He's a guy we can move up the ranks and include in a trade if the right team is offering the right price. We'll see how we are playing the Kennedy line. If Kennedy gets up to AA this yr and dominates, I wouldnt be surprised to see him dealt if the right price came along. Buchholz on the other hand, may have started the season as potential trade bait, but his unreal performance has rocketed him up to future rotation cog. Hence, you have to see that you arent showcasing him and be careful with him a little more.
  10. wow, what an awesome game that was. Seriously. This bullpen was supposed to be amazing. It sucks. Something awful. This captain, he is supposed to be a glove wizard. In the field, he sucks. Something awful. That guy Moose. He's supposed to be our #2. He sucks. Something awful. And how about this team sticking up for their comrades. What the f***? I know Proctor drilled Youks last night. But what Lowell did today was punishable by a head hunt. You dont tackle the 2b. I know it is similar to what ARod did, but ARod grazed him while Lowell flat our bumrushed Cano. The deal with Minky was an accident. But it shouldnt have come to that. Vizcaino should have tested out how strong Lowell's helmet was in the 9th.
  11. Hey Donnie. Keep Farnsworth in and have him DRILL the first batter.
  12. and to be honest, you guys were up 13 coming in. A loss isnt the end of the world.
  13. Nice investment huh?
  14. Lowell was hit on the hand and left the game an inning later. Drew is out with an apparent hammy injury.
  15. Craig Hansen is having trouble getting AAA hitters out. Why would any major league team give him a closers audition in the majors?
  16. atta boy Joe. Let em know how much we have been getting hosed.
  17. you are bringing in Romero with the bases loaded? Wow.
