  1. I know I cant say anything because my team has been pwned by Bako, Hairston, Danks, and the like. But getting shutout by Dinardo for 6 innings and being closed out by Embree is pretty sad. Wow.
  2. I really just want to give that kid a fit. He seems the worrying sort. Now he is worrying about not having anything to worry about. I figured I'd throw him a yankee flavored bone.
  3. If you really want to find something to worry about, then I can give you something. The season doesnt start until the sox stay mediocre for an extended period of time and the yankees actually play to their potential. I have a feeling neither will be coming any time soon.
  4. challenged would be the same thing. How about, slumping. The sox are slumping for the first time this season. Thats about all you can say.
  5. what does us hitting .500 have to do with anything? If we make it to .500 (which would take a week at this point if we didnt lose, fat chance) and you guys still have a 11.5 game lead, what would it matter.
  6. no, they are not. You get "battle tested" when you fight off an opponent in a clutch spot. Unless you consider April to be clutch (is this ARod?) then you havent been "battle-tested" this season. And to be honest with you, you dont want to be "battle-tested". That means you let your s*** slip into a reachable range.
  7. I wasnt being an *******. I just remember 2004 when I got so frustrated in May or June when we would lose a game in the standings. Yeah, you guys won the WS, but in terms of the division, you should sleep soundly until it gets down to 3 games or so.
  8. no, you said the season started for real now, when you are up by 12.5, maybe 11.5 after tonight. And I am telling you that you cannot honestly sit there and say the seaosn starts now when you have nearly half a months lead on us.
  9. as a yankee fan, I remember what it was like having big leads. The lead is there for a reason and finishing the season up by 15 games isnt all that fun. When you are up by 12.5 games like you are now, you are at least guaranteed to hit the pillow for the next 13 nights in first place. Every win or Yankee loss extends your nights of 1st place sleep. And 1st place sleep is such a nice slumber.
  10. the season starts "for real" if you guys give away about 10 games of your lead. Then, you should worry. Every team hits bad stretches and I had been saying that the sox were not as good as they were playing for awhile now. That being said, the pitching has been pretty good and should make shallow the bad times and strengthen the good. If you were putting this lead together solely on O, then I'd say you were beatable. But right now, unless Beckett goes down again, your team has a hammer and then a corps of solid pitchers. You'll be fine.
  11. no, just accepting the painful truth.
  12. that was pretty funny. He fell down avoiding the bat, while not paying attention to the fact that it was hit directly to Chavez. if he freezes on that liner, like he should have, he's still on 1st.
  13. he showed guts. They were all over the floor, in the toilet and in the wastebasket.
  14. fair enough. BTW, you guys do know you are getting ANOTHER soft tossing lefty tomorrow, right? And tomorrow, Wake is on the mound.
  15. DiceK getting burned for the sake of the pen. Poor idea IMO.
  16. um, theo doesnt determine the lineup.
  17. How can you hate Coco. Look at that face.
