  1. you didnt increase your lead. The Yankees won. And no, the other teams in the league dont count.
  2. Absolutely. And it isnt like Papi is anything special on defense. In fact, putting the big man out there in the field is a health risk. Plus, with his hammies barking, giving him PH duty for 2 days wont kill you.
  3. The Yankees took advantage of their riches. They took 9 of BA's top 200. #7- Brackman- (#1 fastball) #31- Carpenter #34- Suttle- (#1 pure hitter) #117- Peavey #118- Romine (#3 catcher's arm) #155- Angelini #158- Krum #179- Storen #190- Snyder
  4. ZR and RF are stupid stats that have been discredited by anyone who has a brain. Jeter's range was good as a kid and his hands were solid up until this yr.
  5. If both teams can sign their picks, we may be 1 and 2 again in the draft, even though none of our teams picked before the 30th pick.
  6. Grandal is a solid pick for a team that really has a dearth of catching talent.
  7. Peavey too? Holy s***.
  8. That is a HUGE pick. I just hope we can sign him. Man, that is REALLY NICE!!!
  9. Tanner Robles fell THAT low? Holy s***.
  10. This Cowan kid's video was impressive. Sits at 89-90, but has a loopy curve, a sharp slider and a s***** change. Nice arsenal for a HS kid.
  11. Grimm was a solid pick BTW.
  12. No Cole St. Clair and no Chris Carpenter yet.
  13. Kentrail Davis fell that low? He was expect to go in the top 5 rounds. Wow.
  14. 13th round pick: Nick Chigges 6'0" 195lbs CoC RHP Kid dominated for the nationally ranked CoC team. He was the ace with ridiculous #s. I;d really like to see what his stuff was. Likely not all that fantastic a la your pick of Mills from UNCC.
  15. 13th round pick: Justin Grimm Position: Starting Pitcher School: Virginia High School, Bristol, Va. School Type: High School Academic Class: Senior Birthdate: 08/06/88 Height: 6'4" Weight: 175 lbs. Bats: Right Throws: Right Report Date(s): 04/21/07 Game(s): Marion HS Scouting Video: Focus Area Comments Fastball: Grimm has a big arm and can throw his fastball in the 89-93 mph range. Fastball movement: He has fringy average life on his fastball. Curve: Grimm's curve spins in at 73-77 mph. It's slightly below-average right now but projects to be an average pitch. Changeup: Grimm throws a changeup at 81-83 mph and it, too, projects to be an average offering. Control: Grimm's command projects to be average in the future. Poise: He's got average pitchability and above-average mound presence. Physical Description: Grimm is a projectable right-hander with a Ken Hill-body type. Medical Update: Grimm missed his junior season with a broken arm, and he had a pin inserted near his elbow. It has since been removed and he has appeared healthy this year. Strengths: Big arm with chance to have above-average fastball. He also has the chance to have two average secondary pitches. Weaknesses: There might be some concern over the arm injury, and he's not a very advanced pitcher at this point. Summary: Grimm has jumped on the map by maintaining a low-90s fastball for much of his senior season, particularly surprising after he missed his junior year with a broken arm. His other pitches are behind the heater, but have a chance to be Major League average. With his size, frame and fastball, he fits the mold of an interesting projectable high school right-hander with the potential to be a No. 4 starter in the future.
  16. 12th Round pick: Manuel Barreda 5'11" 165 RHP HS He's committed to ASU. http://www.azstarnet.com/sn/printDS/120079
  17. Watch the video of this Portice Kid 12th round pick- Eammon Portice, High point U. RHP Kid has a Kevin Brown whirlybird motion and can sit low 90s. Interesting.
  18. 11th round pick: Isaiah Howes U Louisville R/R LFer 6'2" 210lbs .392 16HR 59RBI in 65 games. Also stole 8 bases. Nice pick, U of L is no joke baseball and he was the best on the team.
  19. Hmmm. Mills sits high 80s apparently with control of only 2 pitches, according to your link.
  20. Keowen looks like a find for you guys btw. You cannot pass up on a kid with that kind of projection.
  21. 10th Round Pick: Carmen Angelini 6'1" 185 R/R SS HS A HS All American as a catcher and picked as the Louisiana POTY, Angelini is a Rice signee who is expected to be a SS. His swing is nice, compact, he has power potential in the swing. He looks like a good pick. John Sickels thinks this kid is a 4th round talent.
  22. I see. Are you just googling?
  23. ORS, you got anything on these guys?
  24. 9th Round Pick: Austin Krum Dallas Baptist U 5'9" 175 L/L CF Kid can run. Still isnt blazing. Hate his swing. He drags his bat through the zone. Reminds me of Damon's swing, and there is a reason why there is only one guy who swings like damon in the majors. Hopefully Oppenheimer sees something I dont.
