  1. Elarton...6ER (maybe 7 depending on if Matsui scores) on 5 outs.
  2. Hughes goes 6 shutout innings in AAA for his rehab start, striking out 7, walking one, allowing 2 hits and 0 runs.
  3. They are on their way in the first.
  4. That should have been an out.
  5. Holy s*** this is a bad thread. Wow. Unless you have more substance than a friend of a friend who would be violating HIPAA, then you shouldnt get the masses in a frenzy.
  6. Coco batting fifth is a joke.
  7. ESPN is reporting that the Yankees brass got together to discuss trades. I would assume that they arent moving these guys up to showcase since showcasing is not typically done by taking a player who is dominating and giving him a new challenge. But we shall see. The brass has done stupid things before. These two should be totally off limits.
  8. http://blog.nj.com/ledgeryankees/2007/07/chamberlain_kennedy_promoted.html Clippard and Wright demoted to AA, which should be expected since both have just totally lost the strike zone since being brutalized by big leaguers. I like the fact that they are high on these two and like the promotions. But I am afraid that this means one or both may be ticketed for the bigs next season, which means that their arms may not be ready for the grind. Crossing fingers..
  9. Yankees battering Royals 9-2 right now. About to get within 5 games in the L column (max deficit was 10 games) on the Guardians. Half way there.... WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH Livin on a Prayer
  10. I am agitated as a yankee fan that the sox are winning. I am happy that Lester did doing well, athough I am not afraid to grade his stuff tonight. I know most people want to put aside the performance, look at the numbers and say that he was amazing tonight. While he was amazing simply for showing up and making it back, his stuff compared to what he is capable of at full strength left a lot to be desired. All I am saying is that they are bringing this kid to a gun fight with a squirt gun and he fought well tonight. But with his velocity this low, he wont last. To be honest with you, I was hoping he'd do well and the rest of your staff would collapse around him.
  11. No kidding he did. I dont know how he is mowing down this solid lineup with a pus fastball and not his best curve. If this kid ever recovers the stuff that was reported by ORS a few months ago, he could really be something. He has balls.
  12. as I say it, Lester gets a DP. I dont know how the hell he is doing it, but good for him.
  13. he got out of the inning, but he should not be sent out for another one. He isnt locating and his stuff looks BAD. If he didnt get help from Guttierez and Sizemore, he'd be handing the pen a deficit right now. His fastball hit 90 once but was sitting 86-87 and his curveball lacked bite and location. The sox right now have a kid whose energy level must be near zero, because if the reports were true about 2 months ago of this kid hitting 97 mph consistently, then something is awry. He is pitching like a guy with dead arm, but I have a feeling his arm is just fine. This is the toll that chemo can take on you and there really isnt much record in terms of a top line athlete returning this quickly from cancer. And in the ultimate game of stamina, it seems to have caught up with him. If I were Tito, I'd hand the ball to Tavarez and try to win the game. Then do the right thing and convince Theo that the kid just isnt ready and send him back down. He needs a full, non-poisoned (chemo is poison) offseason and time to fully recover before he can be leaned on. I feel bad for the kid, and I wish him the best. But right now we are seeing a shell of what he can be and that isnt right by him, first of all. I dont care if it is right by the sox since I hate them, but do right by this kid. His guts and some help from the opposition kept him from getting embarassed out there. Hopefully the sox dont give him anymore chances for now.
  14. I feel bad for the kid right now. He has nothing.
  15. I am honestly thinking that this kid is reaching a point of maximal fatigue. He was throwing 97 earlier in the yr? He isnt even hitting 87 on a regular basis.
  16. He is having trouble breaking 90 and he is losing his location.
  17. I was thinking the sox would win this game. The offense knows how important this game is, so I figured they'd give a good outing. We'll see on Lester. Now that he has a lead, I wouldnt be surprised at all if the adrenaline gets him through a solid outing.
  18. There have been rumblings of tampering by the Twins, I had heard. I know the Yankees have made as many overtures as possible without crossing the lines to Joe Nathan as a potential Mariano replacement.
  19. http://sports.espn.go.com/minorlbb/news/story?id=2945798 Former major leaguer Mike Coolbaugh was killed yesterday by an errant line drive foul ball. He was the batting coach for the AA Tulsa Drillers. RIP. Holy s***, what a freak accident.
