    I just heard from a reliable source that the yankees will not be signing Chris Carpenter. He wanted too much for what some scouts say was a major dip in velocity in summer ball. Shoot.

    The Yankees have signed their entire top 10. Brackman got a 3.5mil signing bonus as part of a 4.5 mil major league deal (meaning, he must be on the 40 man roster). There is a rumor that he is in Alabama being seen by James Andrews as we speak. Austin Romine signed for 500K Bradley Suttle signed for 1.3 mil. Taylor Grote signed for 250K Carmen Angelini signed for 1 mil. All are considered to be top talents. Quite a catch. On the flip side, Greag Peavey and the kid from CNY Holle will not be signing with NY. The status of the negotiations with Chris Carpenter has not been reported. Updates to follow.

    I think we can beat up that middle relief. And dont sleep on the Moose. He's been very solid lately.

    Mo goes through these spells of 2-3 games every few months where he is awful, then he tightens it back up. I am kinda pissed I missed Duncan's homer. Either way, the O's seem to have our number this season, so it might be a bit of a relief to face the tiggers.

    wouldnt be surprised if Kottaras is your backup next yr. I think his potential has been minimized to backup catcher and if he plays every 5th day, he might put it together, who knows.

    if we are gonna lose, I'd rather it be a no doubter. Then again, what the f*** happened? I worked all night, had to be in this am and I check the score and wow. I figured Karstens would get hit, but we couldnt hit Cabrera? Oh well. Sometimes, he is just flat out untouchable.

    you want to chalk it up to adjustments? The guy is a 3 month rental, he has no time to "adjust". If he needs an adjustment period then you might as well relegate him to mopup duty and not use him.

    there was a bloop single to Cabrera that he fielded and threw out the runner at home, and then the bloop single to Abreu. So yes, I am saying he wasnt hit hard, just bloopers.

    Rivera gave up bloop hits that fell in. Gagne gave up missile after missile. Then came in the next game and gave up a missile over the fence. You have a guy with a loss of his arsenal per se and most likely come tired arm component.

    I have watched the sox feeds for 2 of his appearances and not once has he hit 94. He has sit 90-91. Not sure what you have been watching.

    but you are taking 2 right handers and comparing them vs lefties to a switch hitter. And you are comparing 2 seasoned vets to a kid who has been in the league for 2 yrs and hasnt even sniffed his potential.
