  1. bad call. I had been begging for the high strike all game and he finally gives it when its outside on Papi with 2 strikes.
  2. he's right around 4 this yr and for his career is right under 4. He'll help. Dude gives innings. BTW, just read a rotoworld update and he's due to have the cast removed in a week. He should be ready to play in MLB games by early Sept.
  3. and Wang due back in 4 weeks.
  4. these numerical projections on 19 yr olds are flawed my friend. Everything must be taken into context. He is s/p wrist surgery as well as a promotion. Next yr will be the key yr. If he sucks next yr, then I'll agree with you.
  5. it was a curveball McCarver. Jesus, these guys are stupid.
  6. But projections on 19 yr olds in AA are rarely useful. He is the youngest guy in the league, and will likely play very well there next yr.
  7. I dont get why the ump is calling the high ball for Wake
  8. Pettitte is getting the groundballs. if he keeps this up, he'll likely end with a pretty good line. The problem is, Wakefield's knuckler is dancing
  9. Well, as poorly as the inning started (1st and 3rd 0 out with 4-6 coming up) Pettitte did about as well as he could. ARod's E hurt.
  10. The ump has a small zone tonight. Nothing at the belt. This is gonna be tough. Pettitte lives up and in on righties with that cutter.
  11. Reyes had his problems with management in StL. Duncan wanted him to pitch a certain way and he refused. He has a world of talent, and if he accepts coaching this time around, he could be an ace.
  12. Well, 2 hard hit balls in the inning and 2 great D plays to save a run.
  13. Tabata is still a top talent. He's 19 in AA. I think he just needs to get fully healthy as wrist surgery can take yrs to recover from when you are a hitter.
  14. Not just a salary dump. In May, Washburn had one of the worst months of his life. 1-2 9.30 ERA. But since then? 56.1IP 63H 19ER 33K 19BB for an ERA of 3.03 and a WHIP of 1.45. Not bad numbers. The high WHIP and low ERA mean he has gotten lucky, but he has also gotten consistent. He's not top of the rotation material anymore, but in Yankee stadium, he'll benefit and should be able to give better performances than Rasner and ponson
  15. The trade is not finalized, but all the signs point that way. Washburn was supposed to start today, but RA Dickey was slotted in on 3 days rest. The Yankees, after yesterday's dealings, DFA'd Hawkins, passed Igawa through waivers and with Karstens and Ohlie coming off the books, that leaves us at 39 spots on the 40 man.
  16. Per ESPN and lohud.
