  1. JHB, jealous as always. I think you are seeing yankee fans come back mostly because the sox have been so inconsistent. Granted, I've been here from the beginning, but others seem to be back. Oh well. The Yanks opened the door to the sox earlier in the yr and the previously lights out middle relief of the sox has been absolutely awful. Mix in the inconsistent offense and you have a team that is losing a bunch of games they should have won. Without an addition, this sox team doesnt do well in October.
  2. I still think it gets done. It makes too much sense. The Mariners are having a changing of the guard on and off the field. Look at the monumental mistakes of the previous regime. Vidro's signing. Sexson's signing. Beltre's signing. And now Washburn, who is pitching like a #4 but at the time inked an ace type deal. Getting out from under Vidro and Washburn's contract allows the M's to give Clement and Balentien consistent PT and move Morrow to the rotation where he ultimately belongs. It also sits in the coffers for a couple yrs when they will need to resign Felix and make a few moves to add pieces. I expect to see Johjima moved if anyone will take him and someone will take a serious run at Ichiro.
  3. Well, the hot streak is gonna continue as long as we pitch. With Pettitte throwing 6IP and 1ER, our ERA remains around 1.4 since the break. It wont last, but the pen has been ridiculous and we are actually hitting. Even if the rotation somewhat regresses, so long as we hit okay and have a lights out pen, we'll be solid.
  4. our pen was filthy before Marte. Check the numbers my friend. It only gets better
  5. Cano stays hot. This one is over. Tie in the L column and a series victory in boston
  6. Holy s***. Buck actually makes sense. "After what we have seen the yankees and their trade with Pirates, I would be shocked if the sox dont make a trade for some bullpen help"
  7. TRADE UPDATE, 5:41 p.m.: Jarrod Washburn might not be a Yankee today, but it could happen as early as tomorrow. The Yankees appear willing to absorb the $14 million he has left on his deal in return for not sending Seattle any player of significance. No, not Kei Igawa Washburn will either waive his no-trade right or get compensated by Seattle in some way. It’s a lot of money, but Washburn would be an upgrade on Ponson or Rasner. Having him around also would cushion the blow if Andy Pettitte and/or Mike Mussina retires after this season or go elsewher
  8. Well, Hansen actually makes contact with ARod. Do they know that Farns is gonna enter the game. Tisk Tisk. Girardi is at the helm now, not Torre. May be time to scramble an egg
  9. Damon tweaked something. s***. Damon, lay off the roids dude
  10. The pen continues their dominance. One stumbles, the rest pick up the slack
  11. Old guy, likely has cardiac issues who complains of weakness in this heat. Good idea letting him stay in. BTW, Masterson looks like he is not the answer to the sox pen. Time for a trade. Marte woulda been nice.
  12. now the lefty up facing Masterson, this is a good matchup for us
  13. is it just me or is he dropping down more out of the pen?
