    the one thing that I will feel bad about, even though I am a diehard yankee fan, is that Wakefield's career may have ended with one of his worst outings. That may be the last time you see him suit up in the bigs.

    Sonnanstine has been money vs the sox, now with a 5 run lead, it looks bleak. I wont count the sox out at any point, but without a healthy Beckett, the sox cannot count on coming back from a 3-1 deficit.

    I agree. Big men dont last long. And Papi isnt just a big man. He's a big fat man. He's already had some knee trouble that has required surgery. He's not gonna last long.

    Dont you mean best out of 3? This was a big game, as I thought this was the one true pitching advantage for the sox and they got shitstomped. Games 4 and 6 are mismatches in the Rays favor. If the Rays take advantage of the pitching matchups this thing is over. That being said, if the sox beat the rays tomorrow, the advantage shifts to them

    Catching is thin among MLB teams right now and not too many teams have them developed at the higher levels. This includes the sox and yankees who have some solid C prospects, but most of them reside in the lower levels. The Rangers have a dilemma. THey have a solid defensive catcher in Laird, they have a terrible defensive C in Salty and two young kids who seem to be pretty complete in Ramirez and Teagarden. They'll be pushing the first 2 before they move the latter two. And it will take a big package to nab Teagarden or Ramirez. More than just one pitcher. Bowden for Salty would be done, but like I said before, Salty isnt a catcher in the future

    If I were the sox, I'd go after Laird. Salty cannot catch in the bigs. He's been awful on D, has a bad elbow and has also shown he has a ton of holes on offense. Laird is the right kind of player. Solid D, some pop, good staff kind of guy

    its wake, he could be cy young or jeff weaver and anyone in between. But he's had a lot of time off, which he has said before kinda gets him in trouble and the Rays hit him very well this yr

    This will be an easy way to sell Vtek's release to the populace. For once, the sox PR machine doesnt need to spin. This performance is all they need
