  1. y228, I will crunch the numbers later, but I know he has a significant difference in ERA between save and non save opps
  2. shouldnt have gone to Mo. Stupid f***ing call from our manager
  3. hey girardi, DONT USE MO IN NON SAVE SITUATIONS. HE ALWAYS SUCKS IN THEM
  4. well, Tex hit a ball that should have been considered two homers. What a bomb
  5. I thought Jeter had it. What is up with our guys swinging like they have no idea what they are swinging at or where it is going. 3-1, Damon swings, pops it up and cant find it. Cmon now.
  6. we have 3 innings vs their poor pen. If we keep this at 2, we should get back in this
  7. WTF happened to CC? Jesus christ, he went from unhittable to sucking quickly
  8. Zobrist hitting the homer is just one of those things. What happened with Dillon was garbage. Ball hits the bag, goes into LF, and Damon throws the ball down the right field line.
  9. and Damon airmails the ball and the Rays tie it up
  10. Not possible, he was in NY warming up while I am in Mass. But yes, Sabathia is better. Couple points. David Price is damn near unhittable. He throws very, very hard and that slider was clocked as high as 92mph. His stuff is very RJ like. But, as with most power pitchers, he can be waited out and we have him at 77 pitches through 4. He might not get past 5 and definitely wont be going past 6 leaving us a few innings against the soft underbelly of the Rays pen. ARod is on a mission today. Goes yard off Price for our only hit. Then walks, steals second, takes third on an error and scores on a ball he should not have scored on. He is using his legs, which is a good sign Other than that, CC has been great and Price has been fun to watch
  11. who cares about a perfect game in A ball. The sox did the right thing
  12. I know he has another yr on the team. But I dont think you can keep a player on this team when all he does is completely suck. Eventually, the sox will find something better and he'll be gone. Think about it. Green may have had his errors, but he at least has some value to the team. He's had some big hits, he has better range, etc. When Lowrie comes back, one of Green/Lugo needs to go. And right now, Lugo is that guy IMO. I also dont think Lugo will take kindly to being a backup full time.
  13. Another issue with Hardy. Acquiring him now keeps him away from the Yankees. He is definitely a target for us when he gets to FA after 2010. Just so happens to be when Jeter's contract expires.
  14. why would the rangers move Vizquel though. He's a supersub on a team that is in 1st.
  15. Montero will be in the majors in some capacity next yr. Just like Strasburg, and if he is as good as advertised, he'll make an impact. Plus, I needed another catcher since I got porked early with soto
  16. Interesting game. Penny allowed a walk and an infield single through 4, then allowed 7 baserunners in the next 1.2IP and before you knew it, 5 runs were on the board. Lugo looked pisspoor, god awful at SS. Not only was his range Jeterian, but he couldnt field the ball and he really wasnt timing his dives up the middle. He is not long for this team IMO.
  17. I concur, sounds good to me
  18. Jesus Montero C NY Yankees
  19. this is a good hitting team, I am gonna go with a deviation from normal for Mr. Penny. 4IP 7ER and a sox loss.
  20. Like I said, I loosely use BABIP. And when you see something so off the wall, you either can try and make an inference or you can chalk it up to chance. Either way, it couldnt hurt Lester to try and locate his first pitch better, now can it? That tells me that he is trying to get ahead in the count and he's leaving a cookie. But who knows, we'll see which way it goes over the rest of the yr
  21. I said he was inconsistent. You went on the tangent of comparing him to a pitcher who is completely washed up, as if it was luck or something. Listen man, Hughes is young. Young kids are inconsistent, we both agree there. I just wouldnt classify Hughes as someone in limbo. More, as someone who is still refining his pitches and gaining arm strength. It really is difficult to label someone as being in limbo when they have been injured for most of the last 2 yrs. The only limbo they are in, is the DL.
  22. Last 4 starts... 23IP 20H 10ER 7BB 23K for a line of 3.91ERA 9K/9IP 1.17WHIP. I'd say he's getting more consistent as he goes along. ORS slamming a yankee player, ORS slamming a yankee player, purple monkey dishwasher. Has a good ring to it
