  1. it took 6 innings to figure out that he's throwing an 88mph 2 seamer nearly every pitch?
  2. Girardi, um, you do know that you have other guys in the pen aside from Aceves, right? This guy seems to pitch every night.
  3. FIRE EVERYONE!!! 9 pitch inning? I never thought I would be hoping for the moment when Craig f***ing Stammen was pulled from the game
  4. fire Girardi and Long. Fire them both. Add Eiland to the list. Losing a series to the WORST TEAM IN THE HISTORY OF BASEBALL is a disgrace
  5. First big league win for Stammen if he closes this out. Unreal
  6. I'd take a draft like 2006
  7. someone needs to be fired
  8. I always think we should sign everyone, but apparently Hal has put a budget on this yrs draft. So, the yankees drafted a ton of college players who are DES and stock down juniors who have the leverage to go back to college. We have something like 10-12 player playing in the cape and we'll be watching them. We know their pricetag. Just depends on how they look and perform in terms of whether we meet it.
  9. 3 more players signed. To this point, no major signability cases have been landed. A couple questionable signability cases in Milo, Talarico and Brooks signed, but all 3 either have minimal talent or were going to sign for slot if it was offered
  10. Not even there either. If you want to look at context, if you look at Saito's numbers in Dodger blue, his 2006 and 2007 were better than any season Smoltz put up out of the pen. Hell in 2007, he had a 0.72WHIP and 11K per 9IP. Saito at his best was one of the most dominant closers you will ever find. It just sucks for him that the majority of his career was spent in Japan.

  12. I still think that DiceK is going to play a major role in the sox stretch run, either good or bad. It is too early to operate on something that doesnt need an operation right now on a player who may or may not be useful to you down the stretch
  13. How do you know Smoltz is better than Saito? Remember, DiceK and Wang plowed through minor leaguers as well and both came up and struggled. So saying that a guy coming off major shoulder surgery is a better bet than a guy (granted with an injured elbow) who is doing it at the MLB level is a bit premature.
  14. Melancon has a ton of upside
  15. you do know that a shoulder surgery is a risky, risky proposition. If they go in there, then you are putting the last 3 yrs of his contract on the craps table
  16. Dojji, you are gonna have to move a starter, either to the DL, the minors or another team. If you move a reliever off the team first, you are then going to run into a problem when you move one of your starters in that a hole will open up. And we all know that sometimes, in the playoffs, that last guy in the pen can be in the most critical spot. And I think both of our teams are playoff bound. Getting rid of someone who could be a big time boon to this team in the playoffs may not be in your best interests
  17. he's fine. Remember, he lost his spring training and he always starts slowly.
  18. their third run never should have scored. He reached on a grounder to ARod who had him by a half step, but was called safe
  19. right, that is pretty pathetic. That being said, should be 2-2- heading to the 10th. Instead we get jobbed again. Thats 2 games in the past week that have been losses directly resulting from poor umpiring
  20. once again, the umpires f*** us out of a game
  21. exactly the guy I dont want at the plate
