  1. I would also go with Gaudin in game 4. Why? Because while Gaudin is likely to give a max of 5 innings, his capability out of the pen and the rotation is about the same. Whereas with Joba, he could be a Jekyll and Hyde starter for one game or a lights out reliever through the entire series.
  2. that was up and away there Chuck
  3. But then, do you count SBs as total bases too? Maybe subtract CS's?
  4. Rauch is not the pitcher he used to be. Time to light his ass up like a Christmas tree
  5. Hughes and Mo should be ready to go 2 innings apiece. We have a day off tomorrow and a prime time game on Sunday, so it isnt like there is a quick turnaround.
  6. they are predigested through any site that deals with baseball. The whole point of these numbers is to compare how good someone is vs the field or vs another. So OPS works as does this new number. All it really is actually is BA + IsoD+IsoP
  7. That would be an interesting calculation. Using that model, JD Drew's "number" would be .595. That would be walks + total bases per plate appearance. That being said, OPS correlates well to that number and is easier to calculate
  8. I am fine with that. Coke vs Mauer was bad on all fronts. Coke vs Kubel is a good matchup, we'll see how it works. That being said, I like the Joba I see right now. 95-97mph is a lot nicer. If he continues to show a significant decrease in velocity through next season in the rotation, he might need to be switched back.
  9. Reign it in Joba. But I am okay with you walking Mauer here
  10. 95,95,96,97. Thats more like it Joba.
  11. If you can take Beckett at face value and he truly isnt injured, then I say pitcher's duel. If he is lying, then slugfest. I bet Weaver struggles tonight and allows something like 3ER in 5IP or so.
  12. we broke the seal, so thats enough. Joba to start the inning. The heat looks nice.
  13. Burnett kept us in it. I go Marte to start this inning. Span is a lefty, so that should help. I would go Coke aside from the fact that Mauer absolutely destroys Coke
  14. With the way Damon is finishing the yr, it might be best to let him go and retain Matsui
  15. this guy doesnt walk anyone, so we havent been able to string a rally together. But the captain is starting something now. 2 solid swings off Blackburn in a row. Cmon YANKEES!!!
  16. 6IP 3H 1ER. I'll take that every time. His walks and HBP IMO were more a factor of his movement than anything else. The two HBPs were 2 seamers that started down the middle and drilled the batter. CC and AJ thus far in the postseason have allowed 2ER in 12.2IP. Thus far, money well spent. Now its time for the offense to sack up
  17. Get him out of there. FB is slowing down.
  18. I was listening to EEI and a former umpire actually came on the show and was talking about how Bucknor is likely going to the WS. It apparently is completely random
  19. I get Marte and Hughes up right now.
  20. PH for the only guy who hit the ball hard tonight?
  21. I think this should be his last inning. AJ starts slipping when the heater starts fading and his last FB was 92.
  22. They used to be. But then you got the exact same umps every post season. They used to do it on merit, but they ran into the same problem. So now, they do it on a rotation schedule and I think you need 5 yrs in to do it. If you do a division series, then you are in the running for the WS. If you are in an LCS, then you cannot. So, CB Bucknor will likely be umpiring in the WS, unfortunately
  23. Nobody has been able to center him because of his effectively wild capability. He is getting ridiculous movement tonight.
  24. Burnett has been a lot better than you are willing to credit him for. His 2 seamer has been really, really good and the slider has been on for the most part. AJ has had trouble with the 4 seamer for the most part.
