  1. That isnt what he's saying Dipre. Youkilis and Pedroia have the "dirtdog" mentality. Guys who will give their left arm to win a game. Thats fine. It was the Pedro's and the Manny's of the world who would put performance on the field, but were viewed as some to be distractions off of it because of their comments and their attitude. Its the diva personality. The sox hated it and with good reason. At the same time, some players are great and you have to live with their personalities
  2. well, goodnight all. I gotta head into work. Boo-urns
  3. Huge inning by Burnett there. Cmon Yankees, respond. Pedro is likely in his last inning here, gotta do something
  4. Good to see Tex center one
  5. My point was that Burnett's pitch count is less of a matter since he can implode at any pitch count. Whereas with Pedro, he seems to always falter as he gets up in the count
  6. Burnett can go a little deeper than Pedro. Then again, Burnett is a powderkeg waiting to explode
  7. When guys like Ibanez are making great defensive plays, you just know you are on the wrong side of good luck
  8. I am not the guy getting paid millions to hit the ball. I definitely could still hit an 87mph fastball and back when I played, 87mph was one of the slower ones we would see. That being said, Martinez and his movement and delivery would make me look silly both then and now.
  9. hey, we got a hit. Sweet.
  10. Pedro is throwing f***in 87mph. You gotta be kidding me, hit this f***ing guy.
  11. you gotta be s***ing me. Ibanez gets a cheapie double and then Stairs hits one through ARod. f***in A
  12. It would be an incredibly unconventional idea of dealing for guys who are 3 yrs away. And the fans would absolutely desert the team if they havent already.
  13. You are making an assumption that you know what Hoyer is thinking, and you are making a pretty strong leap of faith. Take a look at almost all of these big package for premium player deals. That is what I am going off of. The top 2 prospects are typically AA or higher, then there are typically 2 prospects with high ceilings who are a bit far away. Also, it is incredibly important to note where they are in the minor league system, especially with pitchers. Every season they spend in the minors is a chance to blow out an arm. This is the basis of the oft-used abbreviation in prospect circles, TINSTAAPP. (There is no such thing as a pitching prospect). A prospect's value is based on three things. Ceiling, likelihood, and ETA. And both of the guys above lack in the last category
  14. I can't even be mad about last night. Lee was untouchable. We have to find a way to scratch a few runs off of him in his next start or else we could be in some serious trouble. I have a good feeling about tonight though
  15. Absolutely no carry to the ball tonight. That might work to our advantage believe it or not
  16. cmon Hideki, that was ball 3
  17. Nice, Lee is starting to have trouble with his command too. The rain is coming down hard
  18. Finally got ahead in a goddamn count. Cmon Jorgie, juice one
  19. We cannot make contact on this guy. And all 3 pitches he K's our guys on were belt high or higher
  20. Cmon CC, throw a f***ing strike
  21. CC cannot locate his heater today
  22. We seem to do our damage the second time through, so CC has to be up to the challenge for the next few innings
  23. well, this inning doesnt look promising
