  1. Palodios, you just contradicted yourself big time in the eyes of the Sabermetricians. I also, do not believe BABIP is applicable to every pitcher as it has its flaws, but on the whole, a pitcher who has a BABIP of .250 is really, really lucky. Also, if you do not think DiceK's 5 inning stints are a drain on the team, then you are crazy. Having Beckett, Lester, and Lackey in front dulls the pain a bit. But 4 innings of pen work every 5th night like clockwork is a problem. It doesnt hurt if everyone else runs like clockwork. But it dissolves your margin for error.
  2. Fault entails blame. I have a fact for you. Without Andy Pettitte, the Yankees wouldnt have 5 rings since 1996.
  3. per rotoworld..
  4. I suppose being an integral starting pitcher on 8 world series teams and 5 world series champions isnt heroic enough? The guy's entire left hand is filled with rings. It's a wonder he can still throw
  5. DiceK was placed on the DL today. 15 days. It sounds like more of a building up of arm strength issue than an injury issue.
  6. Butler to the finals. Brad Stevens is gonna make a LOT of money this offseason
  7. that looked like a foul
  8. 1 point game with 23 seconds left and MSU ball? WOW, how will it end?
  9. what a f***ing game
  10. Here's the final 25.... 1. Posada 2. Cervelli 3. Johnson 4. Teixeira 5. Cano 6. Rodriguez 7. Jeter 8. Pena 9. Gardner 10. Winn 11. Thames 12. Granderson 13. Swisher 14. Sabathia 15. Burnett 17. Pettitte 18. Vazquez 19. Hughes 20. Rivera 21. Chamberlain 22. Aceves 23. Marte 24. Robertson 25. Mitre
  11. You almost have to root for Butler, even though they knocked out one of my favorite teams (Cuse)
  12. Heathcott looks like the real deal. He was just abusing all of the pitchers in Yankee camp. And boy is he fast and good on D
  13. My prediction is that we beat up on Beckett in game 1, since the bats usually show up for the first game then go dormant until May 1. Then, we'll struggle to score in games 2 and 3
  14. We'll lose 2 out of 3, although we seem to win the first game. We'll probably be right above .500 after April
  15. He's in hospice, which means he's not expected to survive long
  16. Schilling is gonna get in, as will Pedro
  17. 120 works, but that's gonna be with the caveat of "if healthy". He is gonna get a lot of time off this yr as will Posada. Which is why guys like Winn and Thames will see a lot more time that your standard 4th and 5th OFers
  18. Dojji, they are very deep. The problem is, past the surface, they are very young. They have some of the best arms and bats in the minors. You just cannot rely on a bunch of rooks yr in and yr out
  19. UZR is not the be all and end all, especially when you have a player like Cano. I think Pedroia is the more reliable fielder, but he does not have the tools Cano has.
  20. Gom, Cano has better range and arm, Pedroia has better hands and makes the more routine plays. Cano's big issue, IMO, is that he'll make the spectacular play, then mess up on a routine one. Also, Cano in the #5 hole right now looks like a good move, we'll see how it turns out. He is swinging the bat with conviction thus far
  21. The latest gaffe at 2b was by Justin Snyder.
  22. That was Vechionacci and Cano
  23. http://www.myyesnetwork.com/16197/blog/2010/04/02/the_last_ride_for_the_proud_lefty I think this is his last season in NY regardless, but it sounds like he's pretty ready to hang em up. Now, does he make the HOF? A lot of people use the cliche that the HOF is not the Hall of Very Good. And Pettitte has been very good. But part of his greatness is attached to two things. His durability, which is unquestionable. And his track record. The guy has been in the league for 15 full seasons, with 2010 being his 16th. He's won 14 or more games in 12 of them. He is the all time leader in Post-season wins. He has been to 8 world series with 5 titles and has been an integral part in every one of them. I dont think he's a first ballot guy. But I do think that he is the face of Yankee pitching from the dynasty days and his track record gets him in eventually
  24. Nick Johnson fouled a ball off his knee and had to leave the game. He was walking under his own power and they probably just wanted to ice it ASAP so it doesnt swell. But with Johnson's injury history, you have to be concerned
