  1. I never like the term "forearm strain." The majority of the time, it is actually an elbow injury and there is pain in the forearm.
  2. Daniel Nava, grand slam? Really?
  3. Called that one, well, should have said at least 8 runs. Moyer operates by hitting the corners then getting guys to chase off the corners. When you have batters who are disciplined, they wont chase off the corners, so he becomes neutralized
  4. Jeter is on point tonight. Vazquez battled through initial shittiness to lock it down. He wasnt great, but he let the Astros beat themselves early in the count. Now, up 6, I let Javy start the 7th and see where he can go
  5. Thames bat in the lineup is necessitated by Posada needing to DH. Once Posada is cleared to catch again, I dont think you will see Thames in the OF
  6. I played againt Fuld in AAU. He was pretty fricking good
  7. swarms of bees? You lost me. Regardless, I get the world wide fervor, but the games are sooooo boring. 90 minutes of running around to maybe score 1 goal? 2 goals is a high scoring game? Really? Drives me nuts
  8. meh, who cares
  9. Isnt that like saying water is less wet?
  10. The sox are gonna hang 8 runs on Moyer. He always seems to be crushed by the Yanks and Sox IIRC
  11. 2. Angelo Gumbs- Another HS infielder who is athletic. Runs a 4.2 up the first base line as a right handed hitter. Has very good hands, quick reflexes, plus range on the defensive side of the ball. Looks to be a burner on the basepaths as well. Offensively, his swing is a little long, but he looks like someone who can develop some power as he grows into his body. Recent growth spurt put him at 6'1" as well. The kid wants to play CF actually, but it sounds like he and Culver will start off as MIFs and move from there if they cannot handle it.
  12. Sounds like they were eyeing him the whole yr. My guess is they had him pegged early on, but when he emerged onto the national scene, they had to take him in the first. Regardless, the Yankees went with a ton of college guys last yr and are pretty loaded everywhere except CF and SS in the minors, meaning they could afford to go young and could afford to go with athletes, knowing that not all of them would make it. But those that would could either make SS or be moved to CF and make a seamless transition

  14. Yeah, maybe more than those two guys
  15. Didnt you press the panic button? I do agree though, rebuilding isnt an option. You gotta try and win with the bed you have made. Look at the team you will have next yr.... Catcher-None, Vtek and VMart are FA's 1B- Youkilis 2B- Pedroia SS- Scutaro 3B- None- Beltre is gonna decline his player option LF- Ellsbury CF- Cameron- under contract for one more yr RF- Drew DH- None, Papi is a FA SP's 1. Lester 2. Beckett 3. Lackey 4. Buchholz 5. DiceK RP CL- Paps SU- Bard MR- Delcarmen MR- Okajima As you can see, the pitching isnt going to change, maybe another pen arm, but the overall architecture doesnt change. You have to get another catcher, and any addition aside from VMart is an offensive downgrade. Your DH position could be Papi or someone else. Your 3b position is probably going to be a downgrade unless you lock up Beltre long term. Regardless, your team is mostly intact for the next few yrs. Rebuilding isnt an option
  16. Dojji, you are gonna have a wave of pretty solid prospects hit the long season leagues over the next 2 yrs from the solid 09 and 10 drafts. So, you should have some solid trade chips come 2011 and 2012. The question is, what do you do? You let guys walk and draft? Well, that's a 3-4 yr minimum on return of investment if you get one at all. Do you trade players? Do you sign guys? The problem is, you gotta commit to that direction, but with the current contracts, the sox kinda cannot commit to a rebuild. It would have to be a reload with what they have, and that typically doesnt happen completely from within
  17. Go get Dejesus. He'd fix your leadoff issue. Would probably cost Lowrie and Doubront
  18. You gotta get healthy. Pedroia hurt, now Youkilis sore, Ells out, Cameron under 100%.
  19. This is a pretty s***** game in terms of basketball, but the back and forth plus the physiciality makes it hard to look away from.
  20. Well, that was dramatic. And, cue suns smoking pole...
  21. All he has to do is throw that FB. Branyan cannot hit it
