  1. suns, why would he want to stay in such a shithole of a city. A city so bad, that no other FAs wanted to go there. Once Bosh denied the sign and trade, the writing was on the wall. Lebron cannot win it alone, and Cleveland essentially guaranteed that he'd try and win it alone
  2. Nick Johnson felt pain when swinging off the tee today, he's headed back to NY for some tests
  3. A mile wide and an inch deep is the sox way of thinking they are better fans. The problem is, the pink hats show the hypocrisy of such a statement
  4. The worst case scenario already happened there captain. Now, I am dropping it
  5. AJ was solid, Tex continues to break out and we're looking at a sweep on the left coast. Never a bad thing
  6. Wait, Kyle Farnsworth is the key to your world series domination? Please, PLEASE go get Farns. I really, really want you to do this
  7. You can wear a flack jacket
  8. You see Dipre, a baiting attempt requires me to care what you post. I dont need to bait you, the rest of the members coming around to the fact that the Pawsox arent as good as the Red Sox will probably get you pretty revved up. And objectivity? Really Lester? Cmon now, you and Dipre fit into the looney Sox apologist category. You wouldnt know objectivity if it hit you in the mouth. And, is it really bias when my team is coming off a world championship AND they are currently the best team in baseball? Probably not
  9. Dipre going nuclear again. TIME FOR A FIGHT!! Nah, it's okay. I understand you hate watching a good team fall apart due to injury, but seriously, do you think this sox team can overcome the two best non-injured teams in the game for a playoff spot while Eric Patterson, Darnell McDonald, and Kevin Cash are playing major roles? The fact is, the sox have seen their non-injured starters play over their heads. They will come back down to earth, which seems to be happening over the past few games. When that happens, they have nobody to fall back on. You have VMart out for another 4 games at minimum, and probably out of the catcher's position for more games, meaning Cash gets to play more. Varitek's absence hurts a lot as well, since he has been playing the backup card incredibly well, and now his offense isnt there when VMart cannot catch. Pedroia is out another 5 weeks at minimum, with him probably needing some rehab in that time as well. Beckett is probably out for another 15 days since they want to get him 3 rehab starts in the minors before he comes up, although that could be accelerated, AND who know what you are getting when he does return. Ellsbury is out for god knows how long. And now you have Youk with some sort of mystery ailment, who knows if he is gonna have a lingering issue with it. Face it Dipre, the sox team has been nothing short of miraculous to this point, but all scrubs revert to scrubitude (I wish to patent this word). And when the starters go into slumps, as all players do, the scrubs' effect will be amplified. These next 2 weeks are going to be humongous in terms of the sox future outlook, but the bloom looks to be coming off the rose
  10. Kid doesnt get much pub on here for some reason. He was the 1st round pick in 2009 out of a HS in PR. As a 19 yr old, he skipped short season for 2010 and went right to long season A ball. For a kid who was dubbed as having all wheels and no power, he's hitting pretty well. 17 of his 62 hits are for extra bases, and he's got an IsoPower of .126, not bad for a 19 yr old in long season. He has also stolen 27 bases in 28 tries. The only big thing that seems to drag him down is his K:BB rate. He's on pace to reach 100K's and his 5.6K:BB rate is a bit rough for a kid projected to hit at the top of the order. But his speed and his ability to reach the gaps is definitely something to keep an eye on. If the sox can help him with his plate discipline, he might make it very easy to say good-bye to Jacoby in 2-3 yrs.
  11. Mino has the right idea here. In 2008, we lost Posada, Matsui and Wang. Initially, Rasner and Co. picked up the slack, but the scrubs evened out to scrubs. It is inevitable that these career AAAAers or kids play like who they are. The goal is to get people back early enough to temper them falling off a cliff. Think about it, you have Niuman Romero taking meaningful cuts in a game vs your prime 2010 playoff rival.
  12. So you wouldnt be happy if your team was doing well? I see, it's only because I am a Yankee fan. Exactly. Does it bother you that I am here?
  13. well, gnight all. Up 6-1 with the hoss on the hill, I think I can head to the sack now
  14. Lester, Lackey and DiceK close out the first half in Toronto against Romero, Morrow and TBD. The sox get Price tomorrow with Wake pitching in the Trop. Right now, the sox are 4 games back of the Yanks in the L column and 2 games back of the Rays. There is a very real possibility that with their injuries, the sox could be 4 games back of a playoff berth going into the ASB and they'll need to get healthy quick.
  15. The report is an ankle "cramp." Technically, a joint cannot cramp up, but the official status is day-to-day and he should be in the lineup tomorrow. This definitely was a case where his absence cost the sox a game
  16. Be afraid. ARod just went deep again. Tex and ARod are heating up. This team is gonna take off
  17. I vote for clemency. Give the flyin Hawaiian a chance!
  18. ARod goes yard after Tex gets hit. CC tried to give the game away in the 5th, but manned up against Barton, who has been thrown out of the game. Not sure what he's arguing about, the pitch looked good
  19. Thats a 70-80 foot fall. That's deadly
  20. I have never been worried about the sox in terms of the regular season for this yr. The Yankees are making the playoffs. Book it. But, as an aside, I dont wish for injury, but this has almost become a comedy. Nobody seriously hurt, but just a bunch of 2-6 week injuries. If you are asking if I feel bad, absolutely not.
