  1. get this, 0.5 rating
  2. it sure doesn't seem like Roy Oswalt has won any World Series game 7s. I sure would take a lot of guys before Oswalt, not rookies, but Oswalt is not Mr. Big Game
  3. I'm not sure any team can not buy a championship. The Yankees have a grand total of 2 homegrown players and every chamionship team has to bring in that key acquisition to fill it. This is not 40s baseball, it is free agency
  4. who did we buy, Doug Mientcievicz?
  5. That could put them in the World Series, I think Wandy is one of the most overlooked young players in the league. He has average 6 IP every start, has 6 wins and his ERA is below 4, slightly inflated from one bad start
  6. pitching has not necessarily been a problem for them, run support has. I do not think by any stretch that it will happen, but I do think they are about equal value. IMO Oswalt is not as critical to Houston as people think.
  7. I figured this was a good time to start this thread. The Braves have won 4 in a row and are 7-3 in their last 10. This will be interesting for the rest of the season. Smoltz vs. Glavine could decide it.
  8. i dont know if that would impact the decision, he will only be there for this season
  9. I actually think Houston could consider it, their outfield is mediocre and Wandy Rodriguez is looking very promising
  10. Probably not equal value, and definitely unrealistic, but I want Scott Kazmir, My answer is Barry Zito/Roy Oswalt
  11. i think Dave Roberts and Kevin Millar deserve an honorary spot on every all-time roster
  12. Just an idea here, with the new ownership in Washington, I'll bet they will be active in July. Would you take a Manny for Soriano trade. Any chance of it? Personally, I still disagree with trading Manny, but I see it as possible.
  13. haha, great idea
  14. I would take Manny. I'm sorry, but I think for Manny to go we would have to get at least a decent bat or a lefty with Schmidt's numbers
  15. just an idea for relievers, no blockbuster here, but Scott Williamson is said to be on the block in Chicago. In his most recent stint in Boston he was good. Only 11 hits in 29.2 innings pitched with a 1.29 ERA. He happened to be on a World Series team
  16. Here is the thing, they are playing against each other, so obviously you won't have good or bad teams because they are all mediocre. I can see the D-Backs win it, but if the Dodgers make some moves at the deadline, it will be the Dodgers with Gagne possibly coming back soon.
  17. Ted Williams-esque. Thank you
  18. maybe he isnt as talented, but you gotta give some love to Kevin Millar
  19. If you are saying that Bard is better than Mirabelli you obviously did not watch Wake's starts in April. Bard was worsening Wake by being behind the plate. And it was in no way Mirabelli's fault that Tavarez and Seanez walked 5 and gave them 4 runs
  20. Clement is never going to be as good as he was with the Cubs again. EVer since he took the liner off of the head, he has been terrible. Wells is old, but he is more useful than Clement
  21. you know, Johnny Damon would not have made that play
  22. and only Delcarmen is warming up !
  23. this game proves your point perfectly.
  24. also watch for the Cavaliers to trade up and get a shot at JJ Redick
  25. who wants to bet the Trialblazers actually pick a high school player to further screw themselves?
