    the media is responsible for keeping it alive, ESPN especially, the Yankees winning is just more fuel for the fire Dan Shaughnessy is the Boston Globe guy, he wrote a book entitled "The Curse of the Bambino" might want to check that out

    I think Rudy, and Willie Harris will definitely be on the move. A Padres deal is possible for Klesko and a pitcher involving Seanez and a prospect

    yeah, the angels trade is insane and somehow I do not think Chad Spann and a contract of a guy who may never be decent again is enough for Ryan Klesko plus, I do not think unloading Manny is going to happen with the recent talks that Manny wants to sign an extension with Boston to finish his career here.

    the thought of the curse comes from the Red Sox winning the 1918 World Series, their 5th in a short franchise history, they dominated the big leagues from 1912-1918, Then they sold Babe Ruth, then a pitcher, to the New York Yankees. He became the home run hitter with the Yanks, they own 26 World Series before we won another one. The term was not that popular until Boston Globe Columnist Dan Shaughnessy wrote a book about it If we just sucked the whole time it would not be a big deal. We lost painfully, Bucky Dent, Bill Buckner, the Big Red Machine, etc., etc. those are just the headliners.

    Felipe Lopez is replaced by Royce Clayton and they "bulk up the bullpen" with Gary Majewski? The Nats should be jumping for joy, they can now trade Soriano

    it still worries me a little, but he is worth a shot, and while he is a starter, they would probly bring up Van Buren to take his bullpen role, correct?

    yeah, but they are the Devil Rays, they dont want to get a guy that they might eventually have to pay a top dollar

    I agree with getting rid of Seanez and tavrez J. Ban Buren will be up before Breslow but why Graffanino? we do not really need an infielder on the bench, we need a bench outfielder, which we will soon get with Wily Mo. Loretta is really an everyday player. If Gonzo needs a break, bring in cora, if lowell needs a break, move Youk to third, Loretta to first (no kidding, Francona said Loretta is the backup 1st baseman) and Cora to 2nd. Wily Mo is also looking to play 1st some. And we have Hee Sop in the minors. Stern is also a possibility if needed, so pitching is a bigger deal that hitting.

    who would do a straight Nixon for Abreu trade, I mean, Nixon is a good player and all, but there has to be another player involved here, I mean hopefully it is Alvarez or Clement, but not many teams are that stupid or desperate

    the favorites never win these things. Who would have guessed Bobby Abreu? Really, I would pick Ortiz, but he is tired from the 19 inning game, but Dye is really hot so... Dye over Wright

    I think Snyder might be getting his chance, because I read the Theo chat transcript on Boston.com today and Theo was very positive towards Snyder and his attitude towards the organization. Also, I believe I heard that Johnson and the Red Sox and Johnson were working on a deal that would let Johnson go back and forth from the majors with out going on waivers. I don't remember the details, but yeah, someone on this board might have said it.
