  1. Where in the park?
  2. Ohh I get it...funny, huh.
  3. I'm more pumped for this one than possibly any other besides the first Yanks game. I got my Petey shirt and everything. I hope he does well, but Beckett does better, maybe like a 7 inning 2 run thing.
  4. Damn, I was gonna watch the draft, but now I have no reason. I was hoping we would get Brandon Roy. Do we have another pick anywhere?
  5. f***...walkoff job by arod
  6. This is a reason why fans shouldn't pick the players. Joe Mauer should absolutely start at catcher, but instead Varitek, undeserving, will, because people have heard of him. Leave it up to the managers and coaches, and maybe even the players.
  7. Marcus Giles homer in the 12th, 3-2.
  8. After 11 innings, still 2-2.
  9. Wow...watching the Sox-Rays game on Red Sox Classics, the one Pedro hits Gerald Williams, and Ozzie Guillen is playing shortstop. In 2000.
  10. From the article: There are players all over the game with these qualities, such as Derek Jeter, who is that guy in the pickup basketball game who you look at and say, "We're going to win, he's on our team.'' Intangible players come in all shapes, sizes and job descriptions. Here are five of many in the major leagues
  11. OK, I will make it more clear. I DO NOT THINK MO SHOULD BE AN ALL STAR PERIOD
  12. Giambi tied it in the 8th, still tied at 2 in the bottom of the 10th.
  13. Apparently in that start, the last 40 something pitches were all fastballs.
  14. The starters should be: Halladay, Rogers, Schilling, Mussina, Santana, Verlander, Kazmir, Liriano, and maybe Buehrle.
  15. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize ARod lacks timely hitting. He's just speaking the truth.
  16. You might have forgotten that Papelbon's ERA is .46, approx. 1.50 less than Rivera. He also has 23 saves.
  17. There were rumors the Dodgers were going to flip Hall to the Yankees, but that did not happen.
  18. But also, why do the Yankees keep going after the bats? Sure, now 3 guys are down, and ARod is struggling, but even without those 3 key contributors in the Yankee lineup, they still have a Top 10 offense in MLB. Their pitching is the real problem. Mussina is usually good, although he has had some rocky outings, Johnson is clearly aging, despite the occasional gem. After that, who? Jaret Wright can only go 5 innings usually. Their saviors Small and Chacon haven't done well this year. Wang is having a decent year, but a playoff rotation of Johnson, Moose, Wang and Wright? They couldn't get out of the DS.
  19. George couldn't stand to miss the playoffs when he could have done something about it, even if it would have meant dumping his ace of 10+ years to come. I say, do that trade, Brewers.
  20. From Ben Maller and the Herald: According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the Yankees may be on the verge of acquiring slugger Carlos Lee from the Brewers. Former Sox executive Lee Thomas, who is now an assistant to Milwaukee GM Doug Melvin, was seen in Trenton, N.J., on Friday night scouting Yankees pitching prospect Philip Hughes, who allowed one hit and struck out eight for the Double-A Thunder. The Yankees are looking to replace injured outfielders Gary Sheffield and Hideki Matsui. EDIT: Already posted something similar.
  21. Now where am I gonna get my trade deadline info? John Kruk? Eww no.
