  1. Saito posted better numbers in 2006, 2007, and the first half of 2008 than K-Rod.
  2. As for Saito, he was insanely good in 2006 and 2007, going 2.07/0.90 and 1.40/0.71, respectively, with a 5.14 K/BB ratio and a 11.68 K/9. In 2008 he started out good until he tore a ligament in his elbow. He didn't have surgery, and when he came back he wasn't as strong. In the ALE I would expect him to be a serviceable setup man.
  3. I agree with you guys, this is leading up to a trade.
  4. ^ That's why they should come out with a new game every other year and just release a roster patch the other year.
  5. Do you actually get to play the games in this game?
  6. It would matter, but you didn't do that, you said: This is what you said: Will their toughness and grittiness and will to win bring them to a championship? Wjy does being "full of champions" help? Championships are won by teams, and taking individual players from teams who won championships gets you nothing besides the individual's talent.
  7. This is a good point-I almost never play a second season unless it's a drafted team, since I always know the next year's FA class in real life, and it's always wrong. The Show is a big reason I'm getting a PS3 (with Blu Ray being the primary reason).
  8. That's always been a problem with baseball games. Sometimes the dollar figures are completely off too. Hopefully with the salary arbitration feature, less young guys will be FAs.
  9. Nope. I think EA basically traded their pro baseball rights for NFL (Madden) with 2K Sports.
  10. http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/19/mlb-09-supports-rock-band-mic-headsets-for-heckling/ Lol at the bolded part. Who does that? Also, the waivers, arbitration, expanded rosters and 40 mans are exactly what has been missing in Franchise modes. Nice.
  11. Congrats ORS. I get the consolation of most correct picks, woot!
  12. He looks so funny. The game itself looks sick though, definitely getting it.
  13. Best of the 2009-10 FA Class (extensions pending, of course): C Victor Martinez (Club option, will be exercised) 1B Carlos Delgado Adam LaRoche Nick Johnson Chad Tracy 2B Mark DeRosa Felipe Lopez Brian Roberts Placido Polanco SS Miguel Tejada Khalil Greene 3B Chipper Jones Adrian Beltre Chone Figgins Troy Glaus LF Matt Holliday Jason Bay Johnny Damon Carl Crawford (10MM team option) CF Rick Ankiel Mike Cameron Andruw Jones Reed Johnson RF Vladimir Guerrero Jermaine Dye (12MM mutual option) Magglio Ordonez (15MM club/vesting option) Xavier Nady Jason Werth Brian Giles DH Aubrey Huff Gary Sheffield Jim Thome Hideki Matsui Hank Blalock For hitters, anyway.
  14. The Mets signed SP Tim Redding for 1x2.5 http://www.fannation.com/si_blogs/hot_stove/posts/39422 I still expect them to get another starter.
  15. LOL it's his wife, don't worry.
  16. Yep, I expect Sheets to re-sign.
  17. Even as a reserve I'm not excited. He's a below average fielder and hasn't put up a good offensive season since 2004. I would have gone with Jeff Bailey, though he can't play CF. EDIT: Rethinking this signing. I'll pretend we signed Jamie Kotsay. http://cdn.faniq.com/images/photos/photo_large/83/79783-81.jpg
  18. Meh. This probably rounds out the bench as: Bard, Kotsay, Lugo, Baldelli. Can't say I'm thrilled though.
  19. Good game, congrats to Florida. Does Tebow enter the draft now?
