  1. I don't think anyone is saying you can't think out of the box, but in this case it's just not a very good idea.
  2. ^ He's a very good catcher too, so DHing him would sap some value.
  3. I agree on Kilo and DipreG as the top two. I like ORS and BoSox21, and to be honest I think mine will be very good when it's done (it's not). WhiskeyBreath is one of my nominations for the future--he has Justin Upton and Matt Wieters who will probably be two of the top ten or so hitters in baseball.
  4. From 8/15/04 to 8/2_/04 (not sure what exact date it ended).
  5. That's only two turns of the rotation, not exactly indicative of how the Sox will do (and without looking at the gamelogs, wouldn't that be one turn of the rotation since the first turn is on regular rest?)
  6. Ahh the benefits of being an athlete.
  7. ^ Disagree on the .330-.338, I think he hits over .350. It's not like he's coming out of nowhere, he's a #1 overall pick and has been one of the best catchers in the game for a few years, and now is the best. One thing that's odd is his power surge--he's already matched his career high for HR at 13. Also, his BABIP is near .450, which is basically impossible to uphold.
  8. Agreed, this is definitely only temporary. I would be shocked if we have a 6 man rotation after 7/31.
  9. ^ If he's good at setting the table, why is having him set it for our worst hitters a good idea?
  10. In June: .333/.429/.694/1.123 He's never going to perform at his 2004-07 clip again, but it's great to see him produce.
  11. ^ That's a good point--nobody can ever really be proven innocent, all we have is their word and negative tests, which don't determine anything for sure.
  12. So in 2013, Sosa, Clemens and Bonds are all up for the Hall. Should be interesting. I'd have to guess it's all three or none. I'd go with all three. Also the Dominican kind of seems like a hub for users.
  13. Anyone seen Guzman's PECOTA card? Don't get me wrong I like PECOTA and Baseball Prospectus as much as anyone, but... 2009: .323/.361/.454 2010: .316/.357/.436 2011: .321/.359/.437 :what:
  14. No he will not. He will hit .500.
  15. Some long gaps between picks...bummer. Over the weekend I'll do a list of my top three or so lineups.
  16. There goes the $500 I put on the Nats.
  17. It was a very well hit shot.
  18. Nice game. Solid outing by Wakefield, 3 good innings from the bullpen, offensive outburst. I think of nothing to complain about. Sox now 10-3 in the lovely month of June.
  19. *Is Kilo* Jacoby_Ellsbury on the clock.
  20. I know he completely gassed one of the best players in baseball, but he really looked afraid while doing it.
  21. But you can be redeemed with your pick!
  22. I had some too, but don't worry I'm not considering it mojo. Yanks are up 4-3 against the Nats in the 8th, FWIW.
  23. Yanks tied it, game over.
