  1. So do we pick up Varitek's option at this point? He's been better than expected with the SLG. I don't see Kottaras as a starter, but I'm for exploring the market first.
  2. Beckett's solid through 3. Only 34 pitches.
  3. There's my AFL boy McLouth with the diving catch. I'll enjoy him in CF while it lasts...
  4. Am I going to be JHBing it up tonight? Huzzah for lucky DPs.
  5. That was strike three. f***ing miserable call. Good thing he got the pop-up the next pitch.
  6. Baseball time soon. Rain is supposed to hold off for most of the game.
  7. Slowey doesn't really deserve to be on that list.
  8. Shields is dominating the Mets now and so far has outdueled Santana. 2-1 through 7. EDIT: Rain delay now.
  9. So much for the 6 man rotation. Smoltz fits in perfectly to Dice-K's slot on 6/25 at Washington.
  10. Yeah I mean he technically can be sent down, but I'd be surprised if he agreed to.
  11. He can't go to the minors without going on the DL. And yes you are right, if he goes on the DL he can then pitch some rehab games.
  12. Is it lame that I thought of this when he did walk him?
  13. Out of the rotation probably means DL rather than bullpen. I'd rather have him work out his problems in the minors and have someone better in the pen.
  14. I see nothing wrong with giving him days off. But you can't deny that he's been scuffling this year. The only thing that matters is production, correct, and his OPS is at a career low at .832. I fully expect him to improve, and giving him days off could very well make this happen. And I don't think anyone here honestly expects Smoltz to dominate right off the bat. He's not going to be as good as he was in Atlanta for a number of reasons: injury, age, change of leagues. We've accepted that. He should still be a productive pitcher, and he'll add to the depth and improve the team. Don't put words in our mouths.
  15. I don't think we'll trade Penny.
  16. Well, I knew that Sheets was out when I picked him (but it was hard to pass on the value for his potential), but Webb really sucks.
  17. *Ahem* Two of my six starters are probably out for the year. Fantastic.
  18. I was wondering what was going on over there. All I saw was people standing and looking in the direction of Pesky pole.
  19. I like the Romo pick. And the Headley pick, too.
  20. Hey dude. Welcome to the site, stick around.
