My favorite thing about this thread is "there were a lot of things said about ______" So, you signed star players, people speculated that they wouldn't work out, and they did work out. Not exactly earth shattering.

Not only had Kendrick homered off Pettitte in his last AB, but he is much worse against RHP than LHP this year. Same with Napoli, who was due up after Kendrick before Izturis hit for him.

It was a matchup move. Pettitte faced Morales to have him hit righty, which is weak side, then brought in Joba to face the righties.
