  1. I leave for a little while and bang! right back on top. Oh the brilliance.
  2. Yes. sac fly, maybe a nice double to drive in two!
  3. Harris Walks!!! If gonzo can get on base weve got youk up in the hole!
  4. hes on, maybe we break through this inning, I have faith in harris. LETS GO SOX
  5. They can still come back. no worries. Schill can settle down and pitch another few strong and give the offesnse some time to click in. Just dont give up anymore runs.
  6. i didn't realize that run support number, wow that is low.
  7. yea nomah. I miss him. His trademark batting glove adjustment was awesome.
  8. i agree with alexthegreat, theres always going to be new drugs to test for. Until baseball does something about preventing new drugs (which is virtually impossible) there will always be speculation about bonds, giambi. They need to work on combating the new stuff just as much as the old.
  9. Sounds like it is going to be a good matchup at the jake, I am going to have to use the MLB.COM Free gamecasts things since I don't get nesn. Damn. Schill keeps it up, 5-0, damn thats a good start, I think wake can rebound tomorrow. It's all good right now.
  10. I agree with the statement that you're whole bullpen must be solid. If they all gel, they will be just fine. It sounds like a cliche at this point but its true. They've gotta work as a unit in order to get the most out of themselves. Taveras will be fine, I was actually indimidated just watching him in St.Louis, if he is anything like that he can scare hitters. Timlin is proven to be pretty much a solid reliever and foulke, while iffy, was a huge part of that 04 team, who says he can't turn it around. I wouldn't base it this early on stats or records, I like to see how they are playing, and I think we should give 'em some time, have some prospects come up and see what works out best. We have still won games with this "crappy bullpen" so let them see what is best and make a decision.
  11. i know hes not really going to be the next clemens, I am just using that analogy becuase hes probably the only young pitcher on that team who's got a shot.
  12. papelbon 07= second coming of clemens 86. this guy can be an electric starter, let him be a band-aid for that closers spot, and when wells leaves they'll be forced to find another solution and put paps in the 5 hole. I disagree with the statements that closers arent as valuable as starters. I also dont agree with the dime a dozen theory. Good closers, great closers rather are a rare and dying breed. theres going to have to be some help at the back of the pen.
  13. I really, really dislike barry bonds, they could throw an anvil at him, and I wouldnt complain. Just as long as it doesn't hurt baseball in general.
  14. No no, because no one has mentioned him. He is a god in my eyes. That catch in 75.. woosh.
  15. I love athletes with facial hair, I don't mind it at all, but his mustache looks really stupid. He'll be good, I dont like him though.
  16. nd irish recievers= the bomb. nd rules.
  17. i stand kind of like trot, and throw like curt or smoltz. I used to throw like pedro, like literaly copy him, but hes damn good at his motion.
  18. dwight evans?
  19. I agree with that moneyball statement. The Redsox are a team that balance the best of small ball and homerun ball. You get the first few guys on through basehits, walks and sometimes small ball, and then people like big papi, manny, tek, etc knock em in. It sounds like a cliche but the Red Sox can actually pull it off.
  20. few. that one is over. now many more people will see some fine histoy.
  21. bernie carbo, tied the game for fisk! I love this quote I knew once they beat the Yankees, they were going to go to St. Louis and beat the Cardinals. Babe Ruth was tired of being put in the position to always be criticized to be looked at as the curse of the Red Sox. The Yankees have the curse now. They have to live with being up 3-0 and losing four in a row. That's hard to take and I know Yankees fans aren't going to stomach that very well. -Bernie Carbo, during the 2004 Red Sox Hall of Fame induction.
