  1. No s*** but I'm surprised Tito went to him instead of WMP. Let's see what the kid has.
  2. Need a big two out hit here.
  3. They're running all over Weaver. Nice Drew.
  4. Goddamnit Manny. Looks like we'll see some WMP tonight.
  5. If Manny wasn't there Crisp makes that catch.
  6. Where has a700 been anyways?
  7. Schilling looks to have a very good split tonight. His FB isn't as fast as reports had it though.
  8. Man, I really like Youk in the #2 spot.
  9. Dustin Pedroia...speed demon.
  10. I guess so, but they are a far superior offensive team at home. I agree...and it's certainly possible Seattle can stick around too because both the Ms and the Yanks have the luxury of watching the Tigers and Guardians beat up on each other, much like the A's and Angels did in 2004 for the Sox.
  11. Way to make Weaver work, boys.
  12. Drew had to have broken his bat on that. Lowell sucks.
  13. Good start for Schilling.
  14. The Yankees are certainly in the thick of things. Like I said in my Yankees predictions, I would say mine are on the conservative side. However, I just don't see the Yankees really getting there because the rest of the month is absolutely brutal for them. As for the Tigers, I still think they are the class of the ALC, their offense is struggling and if Sheff's hurt that kills their chances. But if they get Zumaya back I really don't see how a supremely flawed Cleveland team is going to overtake them. The WC will come down to the Guardians and the Yankees, and I just have a gut feeling the Guardians eek into the WC. Well, the Yankees just aren't a great road team. If they can manage .500 ball on the road, it's certainly possible the Yanks get close to 95 wins. I mean, if Scott Downs didn't s*** the bed today it's very likely that the Yanks would have lost today. The key series for the Yanks are this weekend in Cleveland and the two 4 gamers against Detroit. If the Yanks have a winning record in those 11 games I will say they are the frontrunners for the WC. Keep an eye on the back end of the rotation as well. Let's see how Clemens and Mussina fare against lineups like Detroit, Cleveland, and even Seattle. Should be a fun two month stretch.

  16. Maybe because Hinske has been worse than Pena?
  17. Is it? What Beckett has done this year is very valuable, but Hanley is putting up incredible offensive numbers at short, a position that offense is not commonplace at. Beckett this year has been more valuable, but looking at the trade as a whole I feel Hanley has been more valuable than Beckett. Lowell being better than Sanchez has tipped the scales in the Sox favor. Last year I would say this was 70-30 Marlins, but Beckett this year has changed that.
  18. Thoughts? Comments? Bueller?
  19. Anyone think they DFA Hinske instead?
  20. I'm hoping for 5 strong from Curt and a solid offensive performance. Everything else will fall into place accordingly.
  21. Lopez has actually been better against righties this year, but I agree that the proper move should have been a DFA for either Snyder or Timlin. Lopez's ability to get the ground ball is very valuable, but this move really isn't that big of a deal. Lopez will be back in three weeks.
  22. The reason people wanted to deal Lowell before the dealidne is because for whatever reason, the guy hits a wall and his hitting falls off a cliff. Someone needs to check the numbers, but I thought I heard somewhere he hasn't slugged over .400 in the second half in over 5 years, and that's awful for a corner infielder. But as of right now, I rate the trade 55-45 in favor of the Sox.
  23. I really think Yankee fans took both of these guys for granted. Proctor pitches til his arm falls off and Myers sported what, a 2.66 ERA with an ERA+ of 162? Yeah, they were awful. An Innings eater and a guy with a 162 ERA+.
  24. Congrats Tom Glavine...last 300 game winner ever?
