  1. My vote is for the Dodgers. Makes a lot of sense.
  2. Is this serious? Where's Okajima?
  3. ...and the water coolers in the Yankee dugout cower in fear.
  4. Why would the Twins make that trade when they can get Cano, Horne and Tabata for Santana?
  5. Unless I see some documentation I doubt it's true.
  6. I tend to agree, however I'm not entirely sure you can call Wakefield "durable" any longer, seeing as he is on the wrong side of 40 and has now had his season interrupted by injury two seasons in a row. His back left him last year, and this year it was his back/shoulder. If Wake slides into that long relief role I feel his effectiveness can be maximized while cutting down risk of injury, and maybe we can cut bait with Dougie as a result.
  7. One thing about the Cubs is they aren;t afraid to spend money. $100 million+ to Soriano, $75 mil to Ramirez, $40 million to Lilly last offseason. Throw Mark Cuban into the mix and I can see him spending $300 million for ARod's services.
  8. Gammons ripped ARod a new *******, too. http://sports.espn.go.com/broadband/video/videopage?videoId=3084768

  10. I can respect your thoughts on ESPN's coverage last night. I do think that it was over the top. However, IMO, the reason it was as is because his career is close to being over, and he's had a bit of "resurgence" this season. It's a good story, plus ESPN has to make waves with their television anyway. I don't like ESPN anymore but I bet they'd do the same to Brady in the tail end of his career.
  11. So you're telling me that he's going to play three times as much and not have his performance suffer?
  12. JB - excellent post. Quick questions - What do your numbers say ARod should get, and when put in comparison to these numbers, which would be the better investment (knowing how long ARod's contract will be - ~8 years)?
  13. Offering both isn't. One is.
  14. lol my teams f***ed Denver so bad the last two days

  16. I can't recall an instance where a player played 3B for four years and moved back to SS with any kind of effectiveness. So your hunch is a hunch, and there is no evidence supporting it.
  17. I believe that's coming off the books anyway.
  18. You'd need to give up a lot more than Bowden and/or Crisp to get Bedard.
