  1. Question then - when is it appropriate to be concerned?
  2. Even after yesterday’s impressive outing for Triple-A Pawtucket, Bartolo Colon is still one more start away from a major league call-up. That means the Red Sox [team stats] will look to other in-house solutions - David Pauley and Charlie Zink are two Triple-A possibilities - to fill the open starter’s spot in the rotation Tuesday against the Royals. A decision and announcement are expected from the Sox tonight.
  3. Pedroia routinely makes plays more difficult than that. He HAS to make that play.
  4. http://news.bostonherald.com/sports/baseball/red_sox/view.bg?articleid=1094448&srvc=home&position=recent Moral - Don't trust Felger.
  5. Right, I'd say about 3/4 worth?
  6. http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/football/patriots/view.bg?articleid=1094427&format=text I respect him for admitting he f***ed up. Basically, he got greedy and saw his chance to break a big story. I don't think he can continue working with the Patriots, though.
  7. The season is 1/4 done. We aren't the least bit concerned?
  8. I knew someone would blame Hansen. At the risk of sounding like a Hansen apologist, sometimes you just have to tip your cap to hitters. Roberts put together an excellent AB, and it seemed Hansen was getting squeezed a bit. And for a single to be a "line drive", doesn't that mean it can't hit the ground before getting to the outfield? I'd call it more of a "cue shot." Blame for yesterday's loss, IMO: 1a. Pedroia 1b. Bullpen Management 2. Offense 3. Hansen
  9. Leon Powe was an all Pac-10 player at Cal, and Delonte West went to St. Joseph's.
  10. Nothing on the Pedroia bobble? I personally would have left Lopez in to face Quiroz, but that's 20/20 hindsight. Why he can pitch to Adam Jones and not a sub-.200 hitter is beyond me.
  11. DOC SAT THESE GUYS FOR THE LAST MONTH!! They shouldn't be "gassed". How is this on Doc? When the KG trade went down everyone was concerned as to how they were going to limit the minutes of three over-30 players. THIS WAS THE GAMEPLAN GOING INTO THE SEASON. Blame the players for not being in better game shape. Garnett - 32.8 MPG regular season, 37.2 MPG playoffs Pierce - 35.9 MPG regular season, 34.9 MPG playoffs Allen - 35.9 MPG regular season, 37.9 MPG playoffs You're telling me 4 minutes a game for these guys makes them "gassed"? THE REGULAR ROTATION HASN'T WORKED BECAUSE THE PLAYERS HAVE PLAYED LIKE GARBAGE. POWE, DAVIS, CASSELL, AND ALLEN HAVE ALL PLAYED LIKE GARBAGE. Only KG, Pierce, and Rondo have shown flashes, and they are too inconsistent. The NBA is a player's league. Doc was a s***** coach last year, but he's been good this year. Why do you think that is?
  12. Lester gets the last guy, then: OKI-PAPS-HANSEN
  13. Cabrera has thrown nothing but fastballs all day. Like, 100% of his pitches have been fastballs.
  14. I really don't have a problem with the call in and of itself, although I would have liked to have seen him appeal to third and not make the call on his own. Why is Papi immune from criticism? His arguing of balls and strikes has become old hat and once he got tossed he stayed in the dugout and pouted. That's not lighting a fire. He's lucky Mills held him back otherwise he would have been suspended. http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/images/2004/07/20/4tmj97oB.jpg Remember that ********?
  15. Hansen.
  16. Did you watch David West last night? Sprained back and still willed the Hornets to victory. I agree, Pierce needs to attack the rim, but I don't think you can call him "selfish". He's just playing really badly. I'd put in Powe over Davis, but again, if he's playing poorly there's nothing Doc can do. I'm not going to defend the way Cassell has played (although they don't win game 1 without him), but defenses have to honor his shot more than Rondo's. Rondo is playing similar minutes that he did in the regular season, the problem as I see it is House is sitting instead of Cassell. Can't really argue. But the question is this - Who do you play, a s***** Davis, a s***** Powe, or a s***** KG? Can't fault Doc for sticking with KG. Grinding his players into the ground? Rondo and Posey are playing similar minutes. There aren't any viable alternatives to KG or Pierce. Allen should probably be getting less burn. Why does Doc get all of the heat? What should he do differently? The players need to step up.
  17. The Rays have already caught up. Homeplate ump wasn't a joke, Ortiz swung the bat and then pouted like a little bitch afterwards.
  18. On the bright side, Joba is totally s***ing the bed in Tampa
