  1. Here goes: When I have the ball: I think the best way to attack yrtb's defense is the same way the Pats beat the Steelers - spread them out and have Brady hurt them with the hot routes, quick read, 3 step drop type passes. I think his team has a pretty fearsome front seven, but I do think his linebacking corps is a little suspect in pass coverage. Orakpo and Matthews are unreal pass fishers but have not proven to be good in coverage. Even if yrtb finds a way to slow down my wideouts, Hernandez and Forte are matchup nightmares catching the ball out of the backfield. I think draws and trap plays will be my best bet running the football, to try to use the defense's aggressiveness against it. The secondary is pretty good but I think DRC and Otogwe have regressed quite a bit and will have problems matching up with my skill guys.

  6. The results of round 1: JB44 over Y20 YH213 over msu TheKilo over suns CD over Divinity Yrtb over RSFFL Y228 over 22407 WB over Flynn I'll post second round matchups sometime today. Like the NFL, well re-seed.
  7. Yeah. I'm going through matchups now. Voting for this round begins Friday @ 8:00 AM.
  8. Using the 2008 Pats isn't the best example when they wen 11-5 with a guy who didn't play QB since HS.
  9. I find patting yourselves on the back to be obnoxious and tiresome. Isn't it enough to have a top 5 QB and coach at the same time? The pats are always good as long as those two are together. And for the record, the 2007 Pats would beat this team by double digits.
  10. Voting ends tomorrow at 8:00 AM. The next round will start tomorrow evening (whenever I can post the matchups). Then there will be another 48-hour going window. Please remember to vote in each matchup thread, votes here will not count.
  11. I like one or two players at each level of your defense (Dockett, Suggs, Revis/Bethea) but I think a team that can spread your defense out horizontally can have success. I think Vanden Bosch is a risk to be healthy for three years and I think Maulaga and Laurinitis are a bit overrated, in my opinion. I don't think your defense is weak, just that it can be had in the right matchup.
  12. I like WB's offense but I feel his defense can be exploited in the right matchup. This isn't the one, though. Indont think Flynn can stand toe to toe with that offense. WB would be favored by 7-9 points on a neutral field, I think.
  13. Yrtb's defense is phenomenal. Top 5 unit and I think his offensive line will give Orton enough time to someone serious damage against RSFFL's D. Lucky for him, he drafted McCarthy has his HC who is as allergic to running as McDaniels was.
  14. Very, very close matchup. I like the mix of talent and youth on Coco's team just a little bit more. Flacco, before last night, was on a pretty solid run and giving him Fitzgerald (there's a reason the Cards kept him and not Boldin) and Harvin as primary weapons will only help matters. Keeping my theme of voting, I like Coco's team By 2-3 points on a neutral field.
  15. I picked most of msu's team and inhab a hard time arguing against YH here. Bowe has proven me wrong and has become a matchup nightmare for anyone in this league but I think YH has a top 3 defense in this league and Belichick will be able to scheme against him. Matt Ryan is great but im not sure how he beats this defense. On a neutral field, I think YH could be favored by 5-7 points (I don't love his offense but I think it's in the top half of this league).
  16. I think Y228 wins this matchup pretty easily. His defense is tailor made to stop Vick and his offense will move the ball at will on that defense. Like my matchup with suns, I think Y228 would be favored by 10+ on a neutral field.
  17. Really? Rob Ryan knows how to shut down Brady with these kind of offensive weapons? I'd love for Haden to be matched up against White or Colston, Brady would have an absolute field day. You haven't accounted for Hernandez, Cotchery, or Nelson in any scenario. I will call for a lot of four, five wide sets, spread your defense out, and completely take Peppers out of the game.
  18. For everyone's information teams ranked 12-15 were like 4 or 5 points apart. They were essentially a tossup. It actually worked out to where there was a majority view on the top 5 or 6, the middle 5 or 6, and then the bottom teams.
  19. Team: BP Spillers QB: Tom Brady HB: Matt Forte HB: Willis McGahee WR: Marques Colston WR: Roddy White WR: Jerricho Cotchery WR: Jordy Nelson TE: Aaron Hernandez RT: Sebastian Vollmer RG: Josh Sitton C: Dan Koppen LG: Jake Scott LT: Joe Staley DE: Chris Long DE: Cameron Wake DT: Hatoli Ngata OLB: LaMarr Woodley OLB: Chad Greenway ILB: Karlos Dansby ILB: Jonathan Vilma CB: Corey Webster CB: Nate Clements FS: Nick Collins SS: Jim Leonhard K: Sebastian Janikowski P: Chris Kluwe KR/PR: Dexter McCluster Coach: Dom Capers BU 1: Josh Freeman BU 2: Chris Canty I'll start with my offense...as I have said multiple times I was not planning on going with QB with my first round pick, but when I was able to draft Brady, all of that changed. This guy has won 3 Super Bowls, has won league MVPs, and he is probably the choice for league MVP this season. When he has weapons, he puts up incredible numbers and with Roddy White and Maruqes Colston, I really feel he has the best 1-2 punch in this entire league. Add in a reliable possession receiver like Cotchery and guys with huge potential in Hernandez and Nelson, and this is a unit that will have no problems putting up points, especially against suns' defensive unit. Asomugha is good, but Haden is largely untested and I can exploit his linebackers and safeties (Darren Sharper? Has he even played yet this season?) His defensive line won't be able to get pressure, since Haynesworth doesnt care I can focus all of my attention on Peppers. Vollmer and Staley have shown they can handle premier pass rushers. As for my defense, Ngata is quite possibly the single most impressive defensive player in the league based on his athleticism and strength. Wake is an incredible pass rusher in his own right and I can line up Woodley on the opposite side and get plenty of pressure with my front seven. Vilma, Dansby, and Greenway are tackling machines and my defense will be incredibly sound fundamentally. Schaub is the definition of an underachiever, and Hillis turns the ball over way too much for him to be taken as any kind of consistent threat. And if Randy Moss is your #1 receiver.....haven't we learned anything about this season? I truly think that my team would be a double digit favorite against suns' on a neutral site. I have no idea how he would shut Brady and my offense down and I think it would be tough for him to move the ball on me.
