    There cannot be any cries of poverty from this FO in this offseason, they will fall on deaf ears. Fenway will be sold out, Sox Appeal will be on my TV. They are the second most profitable franchise in the majors, and they have decided through their negotiating tactics not to spend money, whether it be on guys like Tex for hundreds of millions, or a guy like Meyer for a million.

    No chance in hell. JWH, while making a killing in his investment market, has decided to sit on the wealth yet again. Don't expect that to change. Salary cap doesn't mean anything since many owners purposefully don't spend money to make profits thanks to revenue sharing.

    Teixeira improves their IF defense considerably. The logjam will resolve itself, and since the Sox will continue to cry poverty the Yankees will land Jason Bay and Matt Holliday in 2010.

    No. Willis would be sent to AAA as a reclamation project - he was willing to be sent down last season and should do so this season. Beckett Lester DiceK Wake Smoltz With Willis, Bowden, Buchholz waiting in the wings (unless Bowden/Buchholz is traded for a C).

    No, I am not a fan of committing $15 million AAV to Sheets, even if it is just a two year deal.

    I don't want to trade for Peavy. I posted some ideas in another thread: Bowden to TEX for Saltalamacchia Resign Tek for 2/12 Lugo+ to DET for Willis and Marcus Thames Sign Smoltz to a one year, incentive laden deal (worth maybe $10 million) Pray Ortiz and Lowell are healthy.
