OT Thread: If Soriano's HR stands up, is ARod a Yankee?

It's an interesting question though, Yankees love their supposed "heroes" and I'm not sure they could have swung an ARod deal without giving up Soriano. -
Heard this topic on WFAN this afternoon. Interesting question amidst all of the ARod drama - people all the time say how "lucky" the Red Sox are that the players union did not approve the trade for Alex Rodriguez. My question is - what set the wheels in motion for ARod to become a Yankee? Easy answer - Boone tears his ACL playing a game of pickup basketball. But did this get set in motion before then? Would the Yankees trade away a home grown talent who hit a game winning HR in Game 7 of a World Series? If the HR stands up, are the Yanks as eager to dump Soriano as they were in early 2004? I say no - Soriano was exposed at this point but he has still developed into one of the few 5 tool players in the game today. Can you imagine what the Yanks would be like if he was manning CF for them? I ask you, Talksox. Weigh in on this topic.

100% Manny leaves LA after this season (doesn't pick up his player option) and is saying these exact same things next winter flanked by Joe Girardi and Brian Cashman. "The fans in NY - they love me!"

You're also the guy who said Manny never asked to be traded even though he did, multiple times. It's clear Manny hated Boston. The fans in LA are the best ones he's ever had! They love him in ways Boston fans couldn't imagine! It's also a joke how you say not having Manny is the reason they lost the ALCS - but if Varitek wasn't a huge steaming bag of dogcrap for 7 games they probably have an even better chance of winning. No mention of him sucking from you, though.
