  1. No. Either he can hit or he can't, moving him down the lineup makes no difference, IMO.
  2. No. If he can't hit in front of Youkilis/Bay how is he going to hit in front of Lugo/Varitek?
  3. RE: the Upton v. Butler debate - defense has to be taken into account.
  4. Sandoval is a tremendous pick.
  5. Love the optimism, question the rationality.
  6. Foulke could not pitch in 2007, he gave up the money. Schilling could not pitch in 2008, didn't give up the money. Whether or not either can make a comeback after those dates is irrelevant.
  7. You're well within your window.
  8. In the minor's he tremendous.
  9. I'm feeling a 6 IP, 3 ER performance from Mr. Penny.
  10. Look, it boils down to me for this: Foulke made the decision that he couldn't pitch. He gave up the $5 million. Schilling made the decision that he couldn't pitch. He didn't give up the $8 million. Foulke allowed Cleveland to recoup the sunk cost, Schilling didn't extend that same privilege to the Sox. Whether you deem that right or wrong is your own call. Those are the facts.

  12. After this round we'll have a thread for roster construction (pitching staff, batting order, etc.)
  13. Would you have the character to leave $5 million on the table? I don't think I could have made that decision...
  14. Keith Foulke is the man, and will forever be the man for what he did in 2004. This just adds to his character.
  15. Cust is a solid pick fo the DH spot, I find it interesting that a lot of these picks are being classified as DH spots so early - I would have thought positions would be filled first.
  16. Love hindsight, huh?

  18. Billy Butler this early is an odd choice, but his minor league numbers really can't be ignored.
  19. YH on the clock for two selections.
