I heard remy say something like the sox have had 52 runners at 3rd this year with less than 2 outs and only 21 have scored---and that's before tonight.
Gee i have been typing for 1 minute and our inning is almost over!
What are you talking about---we are having trouble scoring 3 runs a game:rolleyes:
What is truly pathetic is that in the first 2 innings we get a guy at 3rd with less than 2 outs and can't convert anything!!!!! A leadoff gift triple thrown away---this is getting to be like a trainwreck; painful to watch but you can't take your eyes off it!
Not the way to start the game clement---especially with the way our o has struggled of late! At least youk was heads up to get the guy at 3rd! -- without that play it's 3-0 with 1 out!
I like the extra innings package---just frustrating because the first year i got it (i think this is my 3rd) everything was on NESN--now a lot of the road games are blacked out and that sucks in some cities! **cough** chicago **cough**
Or you could just not mention it in our game thread:D
On a bright note, i get to watch the game on NESN tonight--so i guess MLB extra innings isn't all bad when the sox are on the road!
About time that tito threw out this lineup. This (in my opinion) is the best lineup we can put out there until we get coco back--enough of the harris and mohr experiment in center.
The fatman is on a performance (incentive) based contract. So he gets a base salary and then so much more $$$ for every start. So he wants to start as many games as possible so that he gets paid even if he isn't at 100%. So if they sox don't start him anymore then it won't cost them any extra!
No kidding! I think it will really help when coco comes back and we can move youk down in the linu-up. Something like:
coco
loretta
papi
manram
youk
lowell
pena
bard
gonzo
Let's try and relax. I am frustrated with Bard as well, but let's not forget that it was very tough when belli first started catching wake. Let's give him a little more time before calling for his head! I have faith that he will come around.
Oral made a good point (good commentary by the way) that after watching wake pitch the strike zone for Lee is probably bigger because of the difference between wake and Lee. Couple that with the fact that the home plate ump dowdy is a AAA ump that is subbing for a guy on vacation.
A telling sign when the ESPN guys say "boy have we seen a lot of called strikes for Lee tonight!"
