  1. :dunno:
  2. http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/sp/tools/med/2007/07/ipt/1184045845.jpg Winner receives the special treat that these two MLB players are discussing.
  3. I'd like to see Prince Fielder win it. What time does it start?
  4. You guys just overanalyze everything way too much. Josh Beckett has been an ace this season and so has Dice-K. Tim Wakefield has also put up a decent season thusfar and Curt Schilling won't fall off the face of the earth either when he comes back. Plug whoever you want into that 5th spot out of Lester or Tavarez and you have one of the best rotations, if not the best rotation in the league. Okajima in the 8th, Paps in the 9th...pitching, pitching, pitching.
  5. Just wait and see, my friend...just wait and see.
  6. What is there to explain?
  7. I know exactly what you meant...you're the one that got it twisted when I said "another series", I was talking about the 3 series that you listed.
  8. I know what you meant.
  9. PITCHING. PITCHING. PITCHING. The difference between last year's team and this year's team...end of discussion.
  10. Kansas City recently took 2 of 3 in a series against the Mariners. Kansas City recently swept The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim then the Angels went on to lose 2 of 3 against the Rangers. Detroit recently lost back to back series against Texas and then Minnesota. Cleveland recently lost a series to the Washington Nationals and then later found themselves in a different 3 game losing streak. THE BOSTON RED SOX ARE THE BEST TEAM IN BASEBALL RIGHT NOW ON PAPER AND IN THE STANDINGS. Everytime goes through ups and downs.
  11. ...they have the best record and winning percentage in baseball. Every team has its weak spots and slumps and they're going through a slump right now but don't forget that we still have 15 games against the Devil Rays, not to mention many matchups against teams like the Royals, Orioles, and Blue Jays.
  12. Hahaha. This team needs a kick in the ass and deserves to be booed off the field if they lose another series? This team is in first place in the AL east with the next best team trailing by a whole 11 games. They have a .600+ winning percentage and have been playing great baseball with the exception of a few games or god forbid a series here and there. Tavarez is inconsistent and there's always a possibility of him being roughed up by a good offense which happened in the first game of this series. Last night's game could have easily gone either way...and today's game isn't even complete yet. Give me a break.
  13. He's been showing signs of life the past couple games... July 2: More patience at the plate, huge sac bunt that resulted in eventual runs being driven in, some underrated plays in the field. July 3: 2-3, 2 RBI Clutch Hitting It's starting to look like he's taking steps towards being a legitimate major league shortstop...
  14. Why the hell should Barry Bonds care about what people think about him? He loves his fans but he knows he's one of the best players ever to play the game (artificially enhanced or not) and he deserves a chip on his shoulder. He's raking in the millions every single year and also picking up all star appearences and record breaking performances along the way. I don't understand why he should care about his image...
  15. I hope Barry Bonds breaks the record and when he does, I'll be happy to have seen it in my lifetime.
  16. He threw out the first pitch at the sox game tonight.
  17. I'm going to the game so I figured I'd make this game thread. Kason Gabbard http://graphics.boston.com/images/bostondirtdogs//Headline_Archives/BDD_7.22_KG_sea_gett.jpg VS. Brandon McCarthy http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/images/2005/12/21/ZUkFYhXY.jpg http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/preview;_ylt=AtZmjtiGu9lGI2_lpHi4UsERvLYF?gid=270702102 Prediction: The powerful Rangers offense takes advantage of Gabbard's weak spots and Texas wins 9-4.
  18. Don't forget Tony Allen...some announcers are gonna have some tough times when they have to come to Boston. EDIT...Clifford Ray too.
  19. I was about to post a scenario like that. I can't even imagine that... ..or something like Gerald/Theo/picks for Jermaine O'Neal Starting lineup of Rondo/Allen/Pierce/Jermaine O'Neal/Big Al. MMMMMMMMM.
  20. Wow, what a horrible trade for the bobcats.
