  1. PM has been sent.
  2. I feel like I just got to know David Wright a little too well.
  3. Yeah, that's just ridiculous, there is no point in doing that.
  4. I would get rid of him too, and hopefully we can trade Nixon and Alvarez, and not Delcarmen or Hansen, and acquire Abreu if this trade goes down.
  5. AL or NL: MVP: W: Save: AL or NL: AL MVP: Derek Jeter W: Liriano Save: Rivera
  6. He was excellent in college, he has been compared to orel hershiser and jamie moyer, he has been said to have the best command and changeup in the Red Sox farm system. I'd call him an average-decent prospect.
  7. Nice pickup for the Bruins, I really like the looks of what they're doing, they're basically completely changing their system and building around Bergeron. The coach seems determined to win, despite his close resemblence to Adolf Hitler. This team could very possibly be a quality playoff team 2 or 3 years down the road.
  8. I heard a rumor yesterday of him possibly going to the White Sox, personally if I had to choose either D-train or Schmidt, I would go with Willis because he's younger and I don't think he has reached his prime yet. Schmidt could be a good option for the right price but he isn't worth jeopardizing the future. I would rather see them acquire a 4th-5th starter than risk the farm system on Jason Schmidt.
  9. There shouldn't even be a debate, Manny should not be playing in the ASG and no fan should want him to unless you're a bigger fan of the AL all stars than the Red Sox.
  10. Jsinger, you really know your stuff when it comes to the farm system.
  11. It's that time of the year again... I just created a fantasy football league for talksox, now I know what you're thinking..."isn't this the same guy who got banned from the baseball league?" Yes, but that was an isolated incident and I can assure you that I will be a good commissioner who is fair to all the managers in the league. I have been running 12 manager leagues with my friends for the past three years and everybody in the league would tell you that I run the league very well and even when someone else makes a league, they ask me to be the commissioner because of experience. Let's start with the basics... Rules/Details: -It's a Free Yahoo League -To enter, you must have at least 100 posts and be an active member of the talksox community. -Please make your team name your user name on TalkSox to avoid confusion and to make trade talks between managers easier so we know who each manager is. -The draft is tentatively set for this Friday, June 14 at 10 pm EDT. If that is a problem for any managers, please tell me and I can reschedule the draft time that suits the majority of the managers. It may be tough to pick a time where everyone can make it, however that is the goal. Good luck and hopefully there will be a good turn out for this league.
  12. I sense a strong case of jealousy...
  13. I doubt they would trade him, especially in a deal like this where Philly is trading the best player in the trade and they would be making the deal with intent on helping the future. He is a promising young pitching prospect though and it would be nice if we could pick him up in the trade, however it's doubtful.
  14. Theo has said that he won't jeopardize the future to make a move. But...he has also shown that if he feels a championship is within reach he will pull the trigger on a deal involving some good prospects (i.e Matt Murton in the Nomar trade) It'll be interesting to see what happens on July 31st. Personally, I would be in favor of the trade if it was either just Trot or Trot and a decent prospect, like Abe Alvarez. I would not want to see Delcarmen or Hansen traded in this deal.
  15. Nice to see him continue to progress, he was very good at Lowell last season and he has the potential to be a solid MLB outfielder.
  16. What an akward statement.
  17. Welcome to talksox.
  18. Bad situation, fortunately, everything turned out OK.
  19. ...or Yeszir could let the vote stay there and let it go down in history that you voted for Miguel Tejada after the contest was over. I think the latter option would be the wisest.
  20. HAHA, wow.
  21. They would use Mirabelli or Kapler b/c they were both on the bench the whole game and rested, Loretta had played the whole game (7 Ab) and Cora played about half the game (4 Ab).
  22. I really don't understand why Philly wants to trade him, he's a 32 year old player who can play the field, put up 20-30 homers a year, 100+ RBI's, steal around 30 bases and bat about 300. year in year out. Does anyone know his contract situation? I can't imagine it being that bad. EDIT: 20th highest contract in baseball at 13.6 mil.
  23. not a problem.
  24. Ortiz elminated.
  25. WOW, David Wright came to hit.
