  1. if Melky were in CF to start the yr I'd likely vomit...
  2. You could not be more wrong, but nice try. We got a guy who hit a 3 run blast yesterday and drove in 4 on the day. He is hitting over .300 so far, yep, I am upset a ton. Damn, what a bad pickup. All of a sudden Damon leaves the sox and he is on decline. It is good to see that the sox media brigade has converted another member. BTW, where is Coco right now?
  3. and he gets Papi to end it, Blue Jays win. They made it interesting at least. Good night all....
  4. I was agreeing with you on the manny aspect. As far as Lowell and Youk, if 2 guys drop 40 and 30 points respectively, it should balance out somewhat. Granted, Manny is a whole lot important than those 2....
  5. wow, brain fart. It was Cleveland who had the best BP era, not the jays, my bad....
  6. stats don't lie....
  7. Vazquez took a year to get his s*** together and it started in NY. I know a lot of guys just lose it, then find it again, but it seems to happen a whole lot in NY and Boston. Pressure is something that some human beings cannot handle, and unfortunately struggles plus pressure can break players. Coco is replacing a legend, it is a huge deal, and he will have a whole lot of pressure on him. I just find this deal a bit premature, that is all.
  8. Ortiz is f***ing dirty....
  9. Manny is Manny, I hate saying that, but it is true. Gary Sheffield said something that will stick with me. He said, flip over my baseball card and my typical numbers will be there by the end of the yr. Manny is the same way. He'll be around .300 30+HR and 120+RBI. At the same time, though, will youk hit .320 and Lowell be hitting over .300 for the whole yr? Probably not, and they'll likely balance out....
  10. Everyone struggles at some point. Some guys rebound from struggle rather well (Manny and Wells last yr) and some guys crumble (Vazquez, Clement, Rent). Crisp hasnt struggled yet (which isnt a bad thing for you guys), so you dont know....
  11. The fact is, the red sox lost a whole lot but gained a whole lot. Their rotation now has that top 2 big pitchers again, well at least through 2 weeks. But, their lineup lacks the continuity that they had in the past. Mueller was a top 5 hitter w/RISP. Millar at least walked a whole bunch, but youk is a better replacement. Graf was solid, and ERent was better offensivly than Gonzo. The thing is, the sox now have better defense and better pitching so they wont give up many runs, BUT they did that at the expense of their offense. And if they get behind, it is a whole lot harder to come back....
  12. this one is getting ugly...
  13. Speier, Walker, Schoenweis, Chulk were nasty last yr. The Jays actually had the best BP ERA in the game last yr...
  14. the answer is E. It makes a point that unfortunately, sometimes average to below average pitchers can just completely own good teams and there is no explanation. Lilly owns the sox...
  15. I forgot to put the stipulation that it it only the regular season...
  16. this is your chance. That Jays pen is nasty and they will likely be in the next time around....
  17. SAT question!!!! Analogy Lilly:Red Sox A: Colon:Yankees B: Millwood:Red Sox C: Clement:Blue Jays D: Schilling:Blue Jays E: V. Zambrano:Yankees
  18. Joo NO wut Iyam sayeen....
  19. late 90s, Mike Stanley to the sox, I forgot who we got back...
  20. Wow, someone cannot handle banter. SOLID WORK!!! BTW, where is the fat kid joke?
  21. Kotex is a pad, and I am married.... here's the proof about the pad... http://www.kotex.com/na/products/maxipads.asp who needs a girl?
  22. the wounds heal once the new season starts, then they are ripped back open when you get eliminated again. They close forever once they win the WS and you start looking forward instead of back....
