  1. not right now it isnt. Ichiro is under .200 as is Beltre. It doesnt really matter, Beckett has dominated 3 teams, he looked great...
  2. I agree. He was right around 4 last yr in a minimal amount of starts. He's a sinker baller, so he'll give up his share of runs until he comes into his own. He's at least a yr or two away from being a dominant pitcher, but he is starting to get the K more....
  3. I have said all year long, the sox have the potential for the best rotation in the majors. I always used the term potential. I said the yankees will have the more consistent rotation of the two because I thought they had a solid top of the rotation and a serviceable bottom. Looks like the yankee rotation is more top heavy than I thought. Chacon was a necessary pillar and he really looks bad. Pavano has to step up when he returns or we'll be down 2 starters and Cash will have to earn his money again.....
  4. You have no idea how DiNardo will fare. Kinda like how yankee fans now have no idea how chacon will fare...
  5. I have no faith in Wright. Pavano and Small will return and I think one of the two will fill the 4 hole admirably, but without Chacon being effective, we will have a huge problem...
  6. I agree. BTW, Chacon is scaring me. After watching 2 Chacon starts and watching him struggle in relief today, I am worried. Last yr, when we were rolling, we had a solid starting 5 and everyone we threw out there was capable of winning a game. Chacon cannot locate and when he does he is getting pounded. We might be looking for a starter by midseason...
  7. We shall see. If healthy, the sox have a much better 2 in Beckett than Mussina, but both have extensive injury histories. I still think that RJ is better than Schilling, but both have looked dominant in the short term. BUT, in a short series, if everyone is healthy, a matchup of RJ-Schill and Muss-Beckett could go either way.......
  8. What I meant was that he had a very strong first start, but it was completely sabotaged by our terrible defense. That start minus the awful D would have been a win. 2 out of 3 aint bad, I think that's a song....
  9. hey, Beckett just faced a team with 2 guys under .200 and they sat another guy who hit under .200 (everett). The twins will be there into september this yr, wang owned em today, plain and simple...
  10. Looks like the yankees can now match the sox as far as having 3 reliable starters. Wang has had 3 starts and this one was by far the best. He had his sinker going around 94 the entire game and was damn near unhittable. His first start against the A's was encouraging, his last start vs the angels was scary and his current start was magnificent. RJ, Moose, and Wang look like they can really be great if they can keep this up. But, as we all know, it is only 3 starts, so stay tuned. Good game today....
  11. these umps suck. They killed us last night and give you guys a run. f*** them...
  12. happy easter buddy. What happened over at the other site, seems like you all migrated on....
  13. I do believe we have a higher pick than you guys, so we shall see. I think our lone 1st rounder is from the phils and is a higher pick than the 3 you guys have....
  14. I actually advocated this deal and said it was good for the sox. I am playing devil's advocate....
  15. absolutely, and as a 5 starter, that is pretty good...
  16. I'm not saying anything aside from the fact that he had 2 good starts. You knew what you got out of Arroyo and if you have SP depth with 2 39+ true pitchers (wake is not a true pitcher) in the rotation, then you need to keep them.
  17. you have no idea how "fine" he will be. You know what Arroyo would have given you....
  18. Now that Wells is on the DL and is likely going to be out a month, how much different a dynamic has the arroyo deal taken. He currently has a sub 2 era in 2 starts and would side nicely into that 5 slot. I dont think the sox had a contingency plan for Paps as a closer and wells as an invalid. Arroyo would be very valuable right now...
  19. the point is, he was never a top 10 prospect in the sox or braves system. He was always a fringe prospect. He was never a guy like Lester or Papelbon who were top 10 the whole time. Believe it or not, those rankings are very important to GMs even though minor league rankings dont mean much in the long run...
  20. you know it...
  21. that was my inspiration for the spelling....
  22. AROD comes through in the CLUTCH. Eat it bitches, yankees lead 5-4!!!!!
  23. already did, tastes like chikin...
  24. I think he can too, but he is worth a lot right now after his WBC performance and his start in Boston. His stock will rapidly plummet, though, if he slumps. He was never a top prospect, so his performance is worth a whole lot to this point....
  25. that would be something huh?
